We're going to have a lot of new basketball content coming today and in the near future even as we continue with the football and bball/fball recruiting coverage.

Right now we've got a four-part Q&A with John Calipari posted. This is from a media roundtable discussion that took place with Calipari a while back.

Part I - Preseason dynamics, Willis, Poythress, more

Part II - Skal comparison, Humphries & more

Part III - Marcus Lee and positionless basketball

Part IV - Willis, wing depth/competition/comparisons, quality depth and the SEC

Part V -- The Alumni Game (remember, it took place before the game)

My quick take-a-ways:

* Matthews is probably ahead of Mulder

* Jamal Murray is really really good

* Derek probably will see very little minutes again

*Dom could have a chance to crack the rotation

*We will most likely start out the season with a 3 big rotation (Skal, Alex, Lee)

*Humphries will get time in foul trouble situation for spot minutes

*Skal has unlimited potential

*Expecting a 7-man rotation with 6 of the guys being obvious

The story with Karl Towns and the watch is part V is hysterical. I gather they want hits, so I won't paste it here, but its towards the bottom.

I don't care who you are or what fan base you are a part of; If you don't like these happy stories you are not human.

I think one of the bigger reasons I read this board is to see all the stories about the players that have come through this joint. (There have been a couple real bad apples and some sad, sad stories but; This latest batch of players (Last 6 or so years) and many previous players are something ELSE.)

Cal has all of these assistants and I wish he would hire an interpreter sometimes.

But from what was said, it looks like he is waiting and hoping for someone to take the lead as the SF this year. Tons of opportunity there. Another fun year ahead.

Read it all. Awesome stuff.

Don't see how you can gather that Alex will play the 3 after reading that.

That is funny! Long story short it seems like he is buying a bunch of flashy things but he hasn't. He is cheap and he just test drives cars and wore a flashy watch and took it back from what I gathered

I always read these things and try to pick out the Tipton questions. You can usually tell by how annoyed Cal's response seems.

listen to the player videos in the other thread from courier journal. Tipton voice and questions stick out like a sore thumb. He always like to,stir the pot. Asking Tyler about the last five minutes of Wisconsin game what went wrong. Ect.......
