Figured I'd make this thread to talk about how some of our commitments are performing. As of right now, we're getting close to 3 of our commitments getting bumped up from 3 star status to 4 star status (on Rivals).



Meanwhile, a lot of other players will be going out tonight to make a statement.

DT Kordell Looney and QB Gunnar Hoak will be going head-to-head tonight
RB Benny Snell will be playing against Ohio State DE commit Jonathon Cooper
DT Ja'Quize Cross will be going head-to-head against 350# Alabama OL commit Deonte Brown
CB Jordan Griffin will be going head-to-head against UNC WR commit Korey Banks, as well as 3-star Javon Jackson

Looks like many of our players had a terrific night. Here are some stats:



2017 QB commit Mac Jones threw 3 passing TD's, ran for 1 TD, and had no turnovers on the night.


Hoak had 3 TD's, one interception, completed several long passes.


Kash Daniel with one helluva night. One big step to that four-star ranking.


Benny Snell came out on top against Ohio State DE commit Jonathon Cooper in overtime, broke off two huge TD runs, one for 44 yards, another for 75 yards. Not sure of his official stats on the night, but his team's twitter account confirmed the two TD's and 119 yards at a minimum. A terrific night for him.

Jordan Griffin's team pulled out a huge upset tonight. Griffin had 2 TD receptions on the night, in the 17-15 win over Sandy Creek.

Was at this game. Cross looks ok, probably will move to DE. Good size and good athlete. Looks like a SEC caliber athlete.

UK needs to look at Deonte Brown's Sophmore running back teammate Asa Martin. Kid is gonna be stud

Elaborate?

He is built more like a DE. I question whether he is 300-305lbs. as listed. Appeared more 285ish. His body type to me didn't look like he could bulk up to 330-340 like a SEC DT would normally be. He did most of his damage with speed to gaps and rushing up field, not in the trenchs.

He could probably drop weight then, and bulk up to about 310 or so, which is tremendous size for an SDE. He has the athleticism to do it. Lose no size or athleticism off the line. Sounds like a win to me.

Also, never hurts when one of your OLB recruits can punt the ball for nearly 60 yards on a consistent basis..
