At this point Murray and Ulis...Lee played few minutes in the past. Poy has always been more about supposed potential. Briscoe - no outside shots, can't hit FTs.

Short answer.. couple.

Maybe Murray. Although I don't think one game makes a guy elite. He has been way more "un-elite" this year.

Ulis was supposed to be elite, he is just average at this point

Murray is the only one looking like he might spend more time on an NBA roster than in Bulgaria or the D league. Not slamming the other guys or saying they aren't good college basketball players, just not seeing a lot of "Elite" or "NBA caliber" players on the court.

So, does everyone still think there will be a lot of freshmen and Ulis and Lee entering the draft after this year? Murray is a no-brainer. Even when he isn't hitting shots, he is punking his defender at will.

So far, Murray is the only true basketball player. That can change, hopefully it will.

Based on performance to-date and Coach Cal's definition of "demonstrated performance", there are simply none at this point in the season.

Both Skal and Murray will likely be drafted in the lottery (Skal on potential and Murray based on rep), neither has performed on an elite level thus far at UK. Several players have given glimpses of elite level play, but none have played consistently at an elite level.

There simply is not a John Wall, Anthony Davis, MKG, KAT, Boogie, i.e., a game changer, or even a Marquis Teague or Jorts, i.e., a player exceeding their skill level, on this team at this point in the season. In addition, there is no Darius Miller type player coming in off the bench to provide a spark and energy.

Besides an absence of elite level talent, a "will to win" seems lacking at this time. And point guard play has been inconsistent at best. In all honesty, this team reminds me of some of the better Tubby teams--very good but by no means great.

Having stated the above, it's still early in the season and Coach Cal's teams generally improve significantly as the season progresses.
