Obviously there is no way to determine this as 'talent' is somewhat subjective. But, even if we just use the player ratings as incoming freshmen, I would say very few coaches have a winning record against teams whose ratings numbers are higher. Nick Saban is widely considered the greatest coach in college football history maybe. But, at Michigan State his record was 34-24...good, but not what it is at Alabama. Unless you have top ten talent, your record against top 10 teams probably isn't going to be too good regardless of who you are. Granted, I think Stoops deserves some criticism for the way UK has competed in losses to Alabama and Georgia. But, I guess my point is, it isn't easy to beat top 10 teams without top ten talent. And, it isn't easy to recruit top 10 talent to UK. The honest question UK fans need to ask, is has UK peaked, or has Mark Stoops peaked at UK. For those that think Stoops has peaked, but UK can go higher, the second question would be, who for sure can get UK higher? The answer is, we don't know that for sure, but we do know there are those who weren't able to get them to where he has them. So, for those of you who have read this far, please don't start bashing me as a Stoops homer and and all that stuff. I am just trying to take a realistic look at the situation. I want to Cats to win; I don't care who the is.
