How many recruits used UK as a marketing tool this year? Looks like Murray kept us hanging out there for marketing. I can think of Brown and Diallo. Who else? Thanks

Leave it to Rafters. Melting before a recruit, who many overwhelmingly believe will go to Oregon, even announces a decision.
Downvote.

IF Murray does indeed choose Oregon, I'd say:

Murray
Brown
Diallo
Swanigan
Kirk (wasn't he the one who decommitted somewhere, our name was floated, then he committed somewhere else?)
Newman

I don't agree on Diallo or Brown. Diallo looked to be coming here before Slice left, and I think Brown liked UK but it was always said his family didn't.

I think Swanigan did, you could say maybe Zimmerman, that Alabama commit for sure.

Murray never misled anybody. Visited here and his dad said it would be two months to make a decision. He's doing it earlier than he said. Everybody who follows recruiting knew the network Oregon's staff has had with Canadian players. Sounds like sour grapes to me. In recruiting you either win or lose. Cal usually wins but has lost several recently and now he's naïve enough to be played by multiple recruits? Don't buy it.

I don't think anyone "used" Kentucky per say (except the Alabama commit). It probably wasn't a calculated decision to do so but I think having UK as a finalist improved the profile of these recruitments. These kids do see the UK offer as a status symbol. They want UK to stay interested as long as possible which could lead to Cal recruiting guys that really aren't cut out for the UK lifestyle. Once the reality of what it takes to play at UK sets in late in the process the player and family wavered. That's what I think happened this year. Murray on the other hand hasn't really done anything to rub me the wrong way.

I don't feel like I've been rode hard and put up wet, all us fans have in this is time spent on this board obsessing about recruits, we do it every year, were all basket cases until BBM, goes with the territory I guess:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye::popcorn:

NONE. You can't whoop it up the 90% of the time we land all the big recruits and then act like a big baby the one year everything doesn't go our way.
