How in the world did OSU beat UK?

They shot crazy good. We played bad for first 30 mins. That recipe is not a good one.

Its the loss that makes me think UK does have a ceiling this year thats not beyond 2nd round or sweet 16 at best. Neutral court, never in the game, horrendous opponent. Not a good sign

Another dumb take by you. "Never in the game" is just 100% false and an unintelligent take on the game of basketball. Watch the whole game bud.

Ohio State has talent. They're just young. Against us they hit 10 straight shots at one point- most of them Js. It happens. Learn basketball.

Kentucky is a streaky team. There is a chance Kentucky could lose in the 1st round this year if we end up as a 4-6 seed because the mid majors have some really good teams that could be seeded in the 11-13 range this year. Kentucky could also make yet another trip to the final 4 if they put it all together but right now we have the look of a Sweet 16 then out team this year.

The OSU game was a prime example of what happens when you don't come to play in college basketball. By the time the team woke up it was too late.

There's no way to spin that loss. It's not the "Kentucky effect" or that we're everyone's Super Bowl. It's that virtually everyone on the team showed up thinking all they had to do to win was walk out on the court. It's one of the worst efforts I've seen from a Cal team, and by the time they decided they were tired of getting their heads kicked in, it was too late.

It's a horrendous loss, and one that will cost UK when it comes to seeding since it wasn't even a true road game.

When you don't have a lot of strong depth all it takes is one or two players to not bring it and you lay a big fat egg. Cal has stated over and over again, for this team to make a run, everyone has to bring it every game.

Basically, our lack of any kind of defense made OSU look like a top 5 team. Other than Briscoe, we do not play very good defense, Tyler tries, but he is undersized.

Duke lost a home game to Miami by 16, a team that lost to EKU by 30, and went on to win the championship last season.

Stuff happens in a single game scenario. A team may play way above their capability or below. Really, a single game tells little about a team's quality.

OSU is turning into an absolute awful loss for UK.

Lost by 35 today, lost to IU by 25

Hope that doesn't come back to bite UK with tourney seeding.

Are we gonna have these threads after every OSU loss? Get over it already people. It was one game, and by itself doesn't mean anything. Whether we are playing well enough to contend come tourney time is not going to be impacted by that game. Duke got blown out at home by a team that didn't make the tourney last year for pete's sake.

That's it. They shot 50% from 3 and made 11. That's the main thing. It was also a game where our big men were pretty much a no show. Bad combination.

OSU shot lights out and it will be their best shooting game all season.

CATS have had a hard time adjusting to 9pm games as well.

Good teams lose to bad teams all the time. Golden state fans are probably wondering how they lost to Milwaukee. It was early in the year and I doubt it will hurt uk in the seeding process that much. If UK could get a rematch then they would most likely win but since OSU is a bubble NIT team and UK will play in the real tournament a rematch will not happen.

The Warriors were playing the last game of a 7 game road trip following a 2 OT game the night before. Not the best comparison.

OSU played like a championship caliber team....for one game. And then they couldn't handle that type of pressure and stress. so they've digressed back to their old ways. thats how I make sense of it.

This is actually not true at all. One of the least talented OSU teams. Matta's least, except for his first year. They have maybe 3-4 players who have any shot at all of playing pro ball.

For instance, there are more than half-a-dozen teams in the SEC with equal or better talent.

Ohio St is really bad. Losing the UCLA game didn't bother me as much cause of the fact they played outta their minds. Losing to Ohio St and LSU were bad losses just because both of those teams played bad and still beat us. And I know Ohio St shot 9-18 from three, but we shot 9-19 so not much of a difference there. But it's good to know our team can still get better, Ohio St is done lol.

Ohio State hit a lot of 3s in that game. Cats didn't play much defense and they had many open looks----but they still had to knock them down, and they did. Shot like Golden State against UK, but shoot like a JV team against everyone else.
