How far east do armadillos live in Ky?

The farthest east I have seen a roadkill is Ohio County. That is just my limited experience. Does where you live have armadillos yet?

Apparently, they like open fields. That would indicate they probably won't go into the mountains. I'm sure a few will.

For the last 10 years, you can't drive through the trace in LBL, without seeing an armadillo.

I’m betting on the possums. Used to have a dog that hated them. Saw him shaking them for hours, only to see they were gone in the morning. If the dillas are tougher, lord help us.

I didn't even know we had them until I saw one in Somerset a few years ago. Have some buddies in Boyd County that swear they found some nests on the banks of the Big Sandy.

This answers my question about whether you can eat one or not. Nothing edible would be able to migrate east of Morehead.

My son was in grad school at the University of Arkansas a few years ago. We drove out to visit and probably 50 miles or so from Fayetteville, we started seeing all the roadkills. Closer we got to Fayetteville, the more we saw. It was amazing how many there were.
