How did you beat USC last year?

SOS went into a mental meltdown tbh, like he did with UT and Mizzou last season, had two TD leads late on all three then tried to deviate from game plan and chuck it around. Weird.

Cost SC another 10-11 win season to be sure, he dang sure wishes he had managed those three games differently in hind site, had all three right where he wanted and let all three slip away by trying to force the pass, but you have to accept that with SOS as your coach, more good than bad, but sometimes you grind your teeth

Not true. Go look at the game log - I previously thought the same, that SC went away from the run...truth is they only went away from it when the game was tied or when they were down 7 in the final possession.

SC scored TDs on its first 3 2nd half possessions...its 4th possession the play calls were:13 yard run, 5 yard run, 2 yard run and incomplete pass on 3rd and 3. UK then scored to tie the game and UsC called 2 pass plays, one led to the pick 6 and a lead for UK. Then passing becomes reasonable as SC has to score.

SC really only attempted passes on 3rd downs or were very successful with it (when leading)

Spurrier's arrogance, and the courage to keep on running the Wildcat over and over again, even as the clock was ticking away.

Damn if little 4for cu back on an SEC board again. Says Gamecocks can't stop the run. I say App St gets as many rushing yards this week as the Cats. By the way, App St is a larger school than Tillman U. so don't overlook them.

It's interesting, in recent years Spurrier has seemed to allow some of the new guys to get into his head a little more than in past years. He has been outcoached by Butch Jones both years Jones has been at UT. He got outcoached by Mark Stoops last season and barely escaped UK in 2013. Spurrier is also 0-1 against Gus Malzahn.

Their defense was terrible last year though. That appears to be better this year, but their offense seems to have taken a step back. The same game plan won't win the game this year.

Whether SC fans care or knows, the old ball coach carries a chip on his shoulder especially when he reads that his team doesn't do something especially well. He will go miles to prove them wrong if he can and sometimes when he gambles like that he gets beat. He hated Bill Curry and he always kept the pedal down on us until he beat us badly, that's just the way he is.
