I have been mildly following the louisville debacle and their sanctions. I have been reading where most louisville fans think they can beat this with appeal because the alleged activities are bogus.

I was talking to a fan who says they will beat this, as he says crap, without a doubt.

Am I wrong to believe these sex acts occured and have been corraborated by witnesses that were present at the time. That these acts happened in a louisville dorm, on the louisville campus, arranged by a louisville coach and the hookers were paid for by that coach. And that most recruits, some underage, were prodded to participate whether they wanted to or not by the coach. Per witnesses.

I know I have blue colored glasses occasionally, but my god how stupid are these people. Is this not fostering sexual abuse with the underage recruits? If it were my underage son, I would own this school and any money they had not already stolen from the state.

Am I wrong or is there even more I am not aware of. And any of the louisville people here lurking, please debate this if you can. Sheesh, what a bunch of morons.

It's pretty simple actually....

You are not incorrect. They are. They are some of the most delusional people I know.

They are just wasting time by appealing. Unless they pay off the Appeals Committee with Foundation money, and I wouldn't put it past them to try, those banners are coming down and those wins will be vacated.

They are an embarrassment to the state and they need to be taught a severe lesson. Except for the Penn State ordeal of a few years ago, this is the most heinous, low life act in college sports.

I think UL and their fans got so use to the local media sugar coating everything, that they truly think they can win the appeal. The control they've held over local media is coming back to bite them, and you can tell when watching them speak with national media members.

They will continue to say stupid stuff during this appeal process, so just grab a beer and enjoy it.

they are not going to win the appeal
there may be some small things that change like Pitino may only get 3-4 game suspension
they may take it from 4 years probation to 3 years
but the meat of the sanctions will stand, the banners are coming down

Most fans think the NCAA has a "vendetta" against UL or is "vindictive." It is a conspiracy bunch. They feel hate from ESPN, baseball officials, the NCAA, local media, food vendors, stadium seat manufacturers, Indian telemarketers, Hillary Clinton, Canadians, fish, vacuum cleaners, the moon, etc.

It's insane but I keep remembering that we are talking about ul fans. Then it becomes clearer.

But it was only a couple of thousand dollars, no different really than giving the kids a pair of shoes or taking them to a tattoo shop. That's what my UL co-worker said to me the day after the sanctions came out. You can't spell delusion without UL.

I wonder if ul fans ever have sex with their shoes, perverts.

The only thing that could get better would be for them to try and succeed only to be caught and then served a death penalty. The second st bridge would close with all the people jumping off and Pitino would be found on the indiana shoreline soon after.

Its not like they paid 10K a player for a B.J.. They found a few girls on 28th street that needed 20 bucks, big deal so they claim.

It is just a smaller version of the "group think" and "rationalization" that led to the Holocaust in Nazi Germany. Not saying the whoregate and Holocaust are anywhere close to each other in terms of damage done, but the mindset that allowed both to occur are similar. The "good" soldiers/ team-mates went along with the orders of the generals/coaches even though they knew better but did not want to buck the system. Nobody wanted to be "that guy" that stood up and said no or pointed out the insanity of what was happening. And while the generals/ (McGee) were carrying out orders, the dick-tator (Pricktino) places the right people in charge to carry out orders but does none of the dirty work themselves.

The NCAA called their actions "repugnant". I think there were things that the NCAA left out of the report that would have painted a much worse picture. By appealing, they will force the NCAA to come back with both barrels. Not smart.

I sincerely hope you are right. At this point, I feel the sports program should be terminated for at least a year.

So if you paid a girl minimum wage to have sex with 17 year-old athletes, you should only get a slap on the wrist.

For the life of me, I don't understand how any U of L administrator, coach, or fan can sincerely think the penalties the NCAA handed down were too severe.

Are they allowing what occurred to truly sink in?? THEY FURNISHED STRIPPERS AND PROSTITUTES AS RECRUITING INDUCEMENTS TO UNDERAGE KIDS PLACED IN THEIR CARE.

Maybe they need to stand in front of a mirror and say it out loud.

Yep, that's the logic, primarily because the NCAA rules don't specifically state anything about morals. However, they do say something about ethics, which the UL faithful seem to ignore. It truly boggles my mind that they would support the administration after all this.

If you placed this story at Syracuse or Miami or Texas and erased the memory of this UL ugliness, UL fans would be bashing that other school and outraged.

the uavel Banner is like Bigfoot the Loch Ness Monster people have claimed to see it but IT DON'T EXIST

I find it interesting that they coerced recruits into having sex, almost as if they wanted to make sure everyone got dirty.

If everyone is dirty (guilty), then no one can talk.
Same is happening in the Vanderbilt rape trial.
Current defendant is claiming he was bullied into participating.

Couple of typos in your thread title, rodserling -- neither "how" nor "this" should be there.

DING DING DING! We have a winner

many of their fans are now convinced these allegations are once again bogus because the supreme court said there wasnt enough evidence to go to trial..

They are believing what they want because the Court was looking into underage prostitution ............. which is completely different than what they are thinking it was.

I don't think the appeal will succeed. Usually the NCAA gets heat for their consequences impacting the current kids and coaches for something that happened years ago. In this instance, they punishment really doesn't impact current players. It impacts the schools reputation, their wins, TV money, and banners. But with no post season ban, the future isn't significantly impact.

Get him to put his money where his mouth is. Place a bet on it. That shut up the UL fan i work with. He started running his mouth saying that UK was gonna vacating games soon because of Cal. I simply stuck out my hand and said "Bet a thousand on it. If you ain't that confident, then STFU "

They will definitely try something. Pitino has already said something like 'the truth will prevail.' What 'truth' is he talking about? All of the facts are in basically. What kind of info could really change things for them?
