Saw an article on Espn website about Kansas City considering to try to sign Randal Cobb... Sure hope GB is smart enough to keep him.

If I were Cobb I'd be willing to take a nice drop in salary to stay in GB over a big contract with a very poor team. He's a big time WR who's gonna get paid no matter where he goes.

I hope he gets paid!

I don't understand people wanting him to take a drop in salary to pay at a certain place. If you had a job offer of $500,000 would you take $200,000 and stay at your current job? NOPE. You would be GONE

Ah...that would be doubling your salary plus another half. Of course he would take that kind of raise. The difference in what he would make by leaving would probably be a small fraction. People turn down more money all the time to stay at a place where they are happy. If you think about it, being happy and content are some of the more important things in life. If more money doesn't bring you more happiness then what is the point?

UKStoops81.

I hope he gets what "he" wants first and foremost.

My point was that if it were me and I was an elite NFL WR. The difference is not $500k vs $200k. You can't retire off $200-500k when you are 20-something. However he may get $8 million per yr at GB or $10 mil/yr with Tampa Bay. Me personally......I would be happier with a chance to win and produce in GB making more than enough money.........than to go to Tampa Bay......who doesn't have a QB and I'm likely to watch my stats plummet.

I think Cobb's ace in the hole with GB is Rodgers. Aaron likes Cobb a lot, so I can see GB coming up with the big bucks.

The best decision he could possibly make is by going home to play for the Tennessee Titans!!! I can only hope lol

Has an all time great qb throwing him the ball. Even the greatest receivers can't produce if the ball can't get there.

Stay with GB. Or sign a major long term deal elsewhere. Because if he leaves, his numbers will drop. And that hurts his next contract.

My guess has been that Randall Cobb re-signs with The Packers, with contract terms of 5 years @ $40,000,000 - $14,000,000 guaranteed. As of a couple of days ago, reports were that Cobb is asking for roughly $9,000,000 / year. I think he'd re-sign with Green Bay for the $8,000,000 / year "guess", but would look for the $9,000,000 / year from another team. I hope he stays in Green Bay ... The Packers have a 3 to 5 year window in which they can contend for Super Bowls.

The industry I'm in is highly competitive. Recruiters from other firms call 3-4 times a year offering me more money, but I'm not moving because I like the overall fit of where I am much better. I hope Cobb realizes the same.

Cobb seems to love where he is and fan's love him. Being happy can mean a lot more than money in the bank. I hope he stays.

Randall Cobb is smart, he will do what's best for him and his future. If Green Bay is close in salary, I'm sure he will stay. He has Aaron Rodgers as a quarterback and I think more importantly, he has Jordy Nelson to take some of the pressure off of him. I don't think Randall would be as good if he was "The Man" somewhere. Plus, you play your whole career in Green Bay, there would be residual benefits that a lot of other teams (cities) wouldn't be able to provide.

Won't happen, but he is absolutely perfect for the Patriots system.

Why would he want to play for that train wreck of team in Nashville. Cobb will remain in GB, and have a nice career. Just remember, he turned down a contract extension last season because he said he hadn't done anything to earn it. He has earned it now, and GB will pay to keep him in the Green, in more ways than one. lol!

Itll turn around, i would love to see him in Two Tone Blue!

I for very selfish reasons wish he would sign with the Colts. I would get to watch him more often. All of the Colts games are on TV here in Columbus Indiana.

Please, anyone BUT the Packers. As a Bears fan, I wanted to vomit when he was drafted. It kills me that my favorite UK player ever plays for the hated rival and I can't FULLY root for him. He has been great and the Packers are a great organization, but for the love of God, please don't let him be the main reason the Bears lose to the Packers again.

NFL contracts are pretty meaningless with the exception of the guaranteed money.

Easy brother lol I was totally just playing! As a Titans fan I would love it. But strictly for business purposes I think he should stay in GB. With Rodgers and a decent defense he will always be in the playoffs and be contending for the Super Bowl. He and Rodgers can be one of the most lethal combo's in the NFL. With Nelson and the Adams kid coming out of nowhere the Packers future is bright.

IMO Luck is already a top five NFL QB. He just doesn't have the supporting staff that he needs.

I understand the desire to maximize money - but he's got a good thing with Rogers. Not too many top shelf QBs, and that can make all the difference. Just ask Eric Decker......

Alex Smith threw exactly 0 touchdowns to WRs last year.

zero.

I'd stay in Green Bay if the money is even close.

Agree the Steelers would be a great fit, but we just reloaded w receivere so it's doubtful they would go after him right now. And hacksaw, you may be jealous of the Steelers, but they are widely known as one of the classiest organizations in the Nfl. Even Chris Collonsworth, a former bengals reciever, heap compliments on the Steelers and it's management. You must be a jaded bengals fan to have that attitude.

Haha, the main reason the Pack beat the Bears is because the Bears, SUCK! They haven't had a QB worth diddly squat sine McMahon retired. lol!

Hope you're talking about defense and at RB! They have great recievers and oline play! Sad thing is Andy Dalton whom most consider a failure has stat almost identical

He is their number 1 priority! They do not let drafted stars leave! Do not worry he will retire as a Packer!

I would say thirty million in three. Years is a pretty good career. Thats if it would even end in three years. He will be in the league a long time regardless.

Pack have let OT starter Bulaga and LB starter Hawk go. Looks like they could be making room for a big contract for Cobb.

Cobb needs to stay somewhere there are other WR options besides himself. What makes him so dangerous and the other WR corp is one, Rodgers but two, he isn't double teamed. That's why it makes no sense to go to a place like KC. Their WR corp is a joke. No TD's thrown to a WR last year and Alex Smith is no gunslinger. He would be blanketed by defenders.

Selfishly, I would love him as a Steeler but he can be paid and stay with a team where he will be successful. No reason to go somewhere just to get paid.

IIRC, not a single KC wide receiver caught a TD pass last season. That's a remarkable stat. KC is a black hole for receivers. For Cobb to shine, he needs to play in GB, New England, Pittsburgh, Indy, or Seattle.
