Duke will be good but not great. I didn't see enough on the court to make run this year. Coach K is going to be dealing with the after effect of multiple OAD recruiting from last year. He had only been exposed to a single revolving door of one OAD a year but now he will experience the challenge that Cal has been taking on every year.
I'd love to hear what some of our resident Duke dumbasses think about this..

But, but, but, Duke is all that's good about CBB! They'll stay ranked in the top 4 all year and get their usual 1-seed with what, 7,8,9 losses?
Best part about beating Duke is that it can only help your SOS. No matter what happens or how many games Duke loses along the way, you know they'll still be ranked and ranked high. Fine with me since we beat them.

ALthough, I think ACC is going to be pretty solid this year. I looked at Duke and UNC's schedule alst night for another post, and man.. a lot of solid teams. I'm not sure they will have a lot of ranked teams, but a good amount of top50.

UNC got hosed IMO. Lose 1 game, on the road, and you drop 8 spots? They dropped well below Duke and Kansas who also have a loss, even if the opponent was better. Harsh.
Definitely some dook bias. But it also speaks to the uninspiring performances from the rest of the top ten not named UK or Mich St. Most highly ranked teams have, for the most part, stunk it up so far this season.
They only went up one spot? Well, we only beat them by 11. If it had been by 20 or more, they'd have moved to #1.
As a Duke fan I have already stated on this board that I believe we are 10-15. I also think that it's laughable Duke is #3 in any poll right now. I think dropping to #6 is about right for now, but predict several more losses along the way. I do think VCU and Georgetown wins were good for us. I realize they aren't world beaters, but for a young team it was good to beat decent opponents in close games and give the young guys some good college ball experience that isn't Sienna or Bryant.

Wow, UNC drops to 9 after losing in the road without their best player and Duke moves up a spot after losing and struggling with 2 unranked teams?????????

I hate UNC just like the next guy but there aren't too many teams that were going to win at UNI without their best player in November. Dropping 8 spots is ridiculous but moving Duke up 1 after a loss is absurd.

They lost to the best team in the country so they can't get penalized too much. However the ACC gets a lot of respect in the polls because they are the premier basketball conference most years. SEC is good this year but it's still known as a football conference.

With Unc dropping so far after only 1 loss, i don't know how anybody could move Duke up one spot and keep a straight face. Good gawd. The big 12 having so many teams in the top 25 is not something i'm surprised about. This happens year after year. I'm sure once the tourney starts, the same thing will happen and most of these big 12 teams will be gone after the first weekend. I'll be honest, i did catch a game from a team in the big 12 that i think could be pretty good. Oklahoma Sooners just might be for real. Their shooting guard looks like one of the best players in the country and if they get any help in the post this year, this is a team that is going to be hard to stop.

Logical assessment of your team. While we were fortunate enough to win our match up I don't think we are very good at this point either. Hope we improve -

I can see that you're not referencing me, but the coaches are being stupid having Duke at 3. Hell, I wouldn't even have Duke at 6 like the AP Poll does. Somewhere in the top 15 to 20 range would be more accurate in my mind having watched all five of their games up to this point. Obviously it's only November, but if there isn't a vast improvement on the defensive end of the court by this team, they could be knocked out early like the 2012 Austin-led team and 2014 Jabari Parker-led teams were.
Agree with this, but I do think Georgetown could end up having a pretty solid team. I have no clue how they managed to embarrass themselves by losing to Radford, but they played Maryland very close on the road (granted Rider did also) and gave Duke a tough game as well. And they're missing a couple pieces in Paul White (he wasn't too far behind Isaac Copeland in the recruiting rankings last year) as well as Tre Campbell. Should only get better with those two guys.
I think it is possible that we get to see just how much the pollsters love Duke this year,I don't think they are as good as most here on the board do.They may get better but they may not get that much better.I think their frosh are a bit overrated.They will be as good as Allen,Jefferson and Plumlee can make them.Some ACC teams might get a little payback this year.
