Haven't seen any reports on them, that said though, they play at a position where the guys we have on the first string are very talented, and where a couple will get All-SEC recognition (based on their performance at the end of last season, the spring, and early reports going into the season). Will be nice having a player like Forrest (Will be one of the best linebackers in the SEC, and the country) surrounded with the experience and talent that we have now. I have very high hopes for the defense.
I could see Firios and Hendrix getting their fair share of playing time though. It will be behind two very talented, very experienced players though.
Jordan has got a shout out from coaches as a true freshman at OLB. So I would hope the those 2 get some praise this week cause we are gonna need them both for depth this year.
Hendrix and Firios are behind Forrest at Mike LB and Jones is behind Flannigan and Henderson at Will LB. Both positions are more or less inside LB's for us.
Towards the end of last season and especially in the Louisville game it looked like Flannigan was starting to get the hang of things.
I noticed him around the ball a lot more often. Earlier in the season he looked lost some times due to arriving on campus so late. I think he has a solid season this year.
Today, Eliot said Nico is developing well. Jen Smith informed that he is one of the backups for Forrest, but is also getting reps behind Flannigan. DJ also praised Jones.
Hendrix and Firios are backing up Forrest. Forrest mentioned that he is trying to mentor both. Hendrix has lost quite a bit of weight, evidently. So, that seems like good news. Last year, I thought he looked too heavy.
