Sorry but have to disagree with you there. I think there is more disdain for the UK basketball program from the football only fans than the other way around. A true UK fan wants success for both basketball and football alike. To me if you are a UK basketball fan only or a UK football fan only you might as well not even be a UK fan. How can you pull for one sport and not the other.? OK to have favorites from other schools as well for various reasons but does not mean you should despise the sport you choose not to be a fan of.Originally posted by JHB4UK:

not only do they not enjoy or understand football, but it angers them that it exists and takes away time & attention from their precious basketball
You have a point, but then ask yourself this question: Why has it taken so long to make a true investment in the football program, while its financial success means more to the total athletic department than basketball? I have zero disdain for our BBall team, but as a person who enjoys the SPORT of football over basketball gets frustrated when the bball team spends tons of cash for Midnight Madness while our FB coaches, until a few years ago, had a fraction of the recruiting budget of its SEC peers.Originally posted by cats2010:

I personally do not know anyone that falls into either category. We relish our success in basketball and hope and wish for something to cheer about in football. I see more despise on this board for basketball than I ever see on the basketball side for football.
Have to agree. I might have taken Oscar seriously 20 years ago. Not anymore.Originally posted by optimus-blue:

Exactly. The only radio show worth getting any football info from is Toms Leach Report, or when Freddie Maggard is on with Larry Vaught IMO.Originally posted by optimus-blue:

I'll flat out disagree with you about that. I recently posted an observation on here during the height of football recruiting season and simply stated there was basketball article about on the football recruiting opening page. People here responded by making ignorant attempts at insulting me. Worse, the writer and site left it there confirming they don't really care about getting it right with football. It is not the mistake that was revealing it was the reaction when the mistake was exposed.Originally posted by cats2010:
