over at KSRadio that the SEC Football schedule is "brutal."

Seriously. They just posted an article about it. Really helps to know such things. Tremendous insights. We played GEORGIA, FLORIDA, and Tennessee, plus Missouri and Mississippi State every year before this one. Newsflash- every year was brutal because the first 3 alone were averaging in the top ten every year in recruiting. Then we also got an LSU, Bama, A&M, and Auburn thrown in as well.

Brutal is par for the course in the SEC even if you're playing AGAINST UK...

There are only a hand full of teams that would be over .500 any given year in the SEC with this schedule.

Pretty funny. Had a pretty firm grip on this fact of life while still in grade school... so I've been living with this "news" almost 50 years. Try harder, KSR.

I don't get these kind of headlines every year. Our schedule is brutal every yr. To me there are just a handful of things that make schedules worse than others:

#1 - OOC opponents - I don't think Toledo, EMU, Tenn Tech, and UL is any better nor worse than any other year.

#2 - The runs - It gets brutal when we have to play a lot of hard ranked teams every wk for a month straight. The first 1/3rd of the schedule plays teams easy/hard/easy/hard....so that's nice. The 2nd 1/3rd of UGA/UT/UT/AU looks to be one of those brutal runs......but there is a bye wk stuck in after UGA which breaks it up just a little...and of course Auburn hasn't been stellar recently. (granted you could bring up USC/UF as bookends to this run which doesn't help) The final 1/3rd, is basically medium-hard/easy/medium-hard/medium-hard.

#3 - Timing matters - If you're first game of the year is a ranked opponent....ouch. Getting pummeled by a UGA/Bama/National Title contender right before playing UL......ouch. I'm not seeing any significant timing issues out of the normal for 2025.

#4 - Personnel - Who has stud QB's/players returning? Who has had a change in HC/OC/DC? We have some new players which may/may not help us? You would have to assume that Ole Miss will see a drop of production following the loss of Dart, but how much? Will Jackson Arnold do much with Auburn? Will Pavia continue to do well at Vandy? Arch? Once again, I'm not seeing anything particularly out of the normal for a UK schedule.

Last year's and the 2025 schedule are much harder than the "old one". Newsflash...KSR is very good with there football coverage and they are correct, this is a brutal schedule.
