So, the book closes on the epic struggle between Rick Pitino and the the program that made him a superstar of the coaching world. He thought he was coming back to the Bluegrass State to eclipse Kentucky and create a new chapter in his legend while proving HE made the Wildcats, not the opposite.

Setting aside the rancid scandals, it didn't turn out that way:

2-4 versus Tubby Smith
2-0 versus BCG
2-8 versus John Calipari.

In sum, six wins, a dozen losses; A .333 win percentage, even with all the cheating. Hardly Hall of Fame numbers, and not much to satisfy the ego of the would-be conqueror.
