Have to go to 6 fouls

College basketbll has to adopt the 6 foul rule like NBA. I am so damn tired of watching these refs call BS fouls and keep some of the better players out of big games.

Collins from Gonzaga got screwed on a couple of calls and looked like he was going to have a huge game.

Even the announcers pleaded several times to the refs to let the game breathe a little when they finally got a decent flow going instead of constantly calling fouls.

You hardly ever have this issue in NBA games. These college officials do not need to be the focus. Let the players decide the game you asses!

I think the NBA ref being caught gambling on games and cheating to win his bets is a bigger reason that you don't see it much in the NBA. Adding a 6th foul, to me, won't do much. If a ref wants to get a key player out of the game, they'll make sure they get to 6.

Six fouls won't help. The refs will blow their whistles as many times as it takes.

That is a damn shame if 6 won't help. Tiring seeing a guy go out with two fouls in first and have to sit out the rest of the half and then seeing a player like Collins, who looked like he was a difffence maker get a BS fourth foul.

Let the players dictate the outcome. They call too many BS calls and then will let a man get mugged and not call it. Too inconsistent but consistently bad!

No, have to go to 2 refs. Ever since they went to three officiating has become worse. They over react to everything and feel the need to look for fouls get their calls in. And in the off season meetings they have to emphasize to these guys to stop biting their whistles and anticipating contact on every drive and every post shot. They tense up expecting ANY kind of contact then react by blowing their whisltes. If they were taught to relax and wait to see what happens a lot of those calls could be play through deals and the games would be watchable again.

The refs will not get better. If they don't allow 6 fouls then the game is over. We see now how pathetic it is when teams can't compete due to players setting much of the game. It won't solve the problem but a guy can play with 3 fouls in the first knowing he still has 3 for the second. This is awful.

Time and again...

The college game has the same foul-to-time ratio as the NBA. The NBA plays eight minute longer games. Both get one foul per eight minutes of play.

40÷5=8
48÷6=8

If you want it to be like the NBA, then it has to go to 48 minutes as well. Then we're right back where we started, so what difference does it make?

The real solution is for players not to foul so much and for the referees to be competent.

The 6 fouls won't help the college game. They need to be more like NBA refs in that they let the players and don't feel the need to police them.

I agree, opposing teams "foul trouble" paved the way for the cheats title.

6 foul rule and Fox, Bam, Monk, and Willis all play instead of sit the first half.

They definitely need to go to Quarters in lieu of Halves to reset the bonus at least.

Both teams shooting 2 free throws with 9 minutes left was a goddamn joke.

OP, I strongly disagree.

1) NBA plays 8 more minutes per game (20% more), both college & NBA minutes to fouls equate to 8 minutes per foul
2) Collins did get screwed, BUT as a player you have to learn to adjust. They called a very tight whistle on both teams that 2nd half. The smarter teams will learn & adjust & win. I think NBA players are older, more experienced, more mature, and thus know when to adjust better. It's also a no-defense league until the playoffs, whereas most college teams place a priority on defense.
3) If you allow 6 fouls, what will happen is team will play even more aggressively, more like UL & WV & Ark, and you will see more fouls called and more fouls committed that aren't called. I don't think either of those are a good outcome.
