Will be preseason #1 next yr?

With 3 of the top 7 recruits and 4 of the top 17 and 5 of the top 26 I think it has.

Plus recruiting gurus are salivating over Gabriel and believe he could wind up in the top 10.

That would give UK 4 in the top 10!

With all "duke" respect, UK may have a few return too and our class blows Duke's out of the water.

Kentucky will be #1 guys.

Duke will return Allen, Kennard, Thornton , Jones, Jeter and possibly even Ingram if he doesn't significantly improve over the season. Add in the #1 and #2 players... plus another top 10 in Jackson and they will be ranked preseason #1. I disagree with how much hype those three players are getting but I don't create the polls. And thats not counting if they also land Bolden.

I want UK to be #1 every week but I have ESP.........N . and I know the media and coaches will side with K.

If Duke returns all of these players they deserve to be #1.

Wise, who do you think comes back for UK?

There will be Mulder, Hawkins , Willis and Wynyard. In which the voters won't care about. Then Matthews and Humphries will be back. I also think Lee comes back.

Poythress leaves because another year does nothing for him. And Ulis is never going to go higher in the draft than where he will this year so he should go. Make as much money while he can. As for Briscoe, he's a lot like Bledsoe, he won't need to shoot the ball well to be a first rounder.

Fair enough. It will be very very close with UK and Duke especially if we land Simmons and or Alkins.

As far as team's go... a sophomore group of Wynyard, Humphries, and Matthews...... to go with Bam, Fox, Monk, SKJ , and Gabriel...... well they won't play second fiddle to anyone.

Those guys will look at Duke and all the hype that team will get and will take it personal. Cal will use it to be a driving force for our guys and it will make us that much better.

It would be great to have Lee back, but I don't think that's a guarantee. Plus, the front court is going to be crowded.

UK won't get any hype going into next season? Analysts are already saying the class ya'll have coming in is one of the greatest of all time.

I'm not sure, and I really don't think it matters who is preseason #1, BUT I will say this:

It seems like college basketball is becoming a pissing contest between UK and Duke, at least to an extent.

It's just too hard to tell right now. We don't know who will be leaving, someone could get injured, recruiting classes may not be finished, etc. Just too far off.

What the hell? This post is just all around ridiculous.

Think you read that wrong, not implying K pays Ingram but saying K is more likely to go broke than Ingram is in returning for a sophomore season. At least that is how I took it.

Ah, my bad.

That said, Ingram would be smart to return if he doesn't play better this year. Underwhelming start to the season for Brandon.

Pretty weak draft this year. Ingram should go and probably will. If he starts playing better he could be a lottery pick on potential alone in this draft.

It's going to be one heck of a draft in 2017.

No way Ingram returns. He's a lock for the lottery. Would not surprise me to see Grayson Allen leave to if his high scoring continues. If Duke is preseason #1 they won't stay in that spot long. Harry Giles won't be 100% until at least January.

Honestly wouldn't be shocked if that happens some day. Hell, Texas has its own network, and I'm sure BBN fans would watch a Kentucky network 24/7

Somehow don't see the NCAA allowing that even though they have for other schools (texas) and notre Dame Football with their exclusive NBC contract. UK's senior night (when we used to have them) was barred from being carried live on TV as it supposedly was deemed some sort of recruiting advantage. UK basketball would never be allowed to have their own network.

Poythress was also a lottery pick this time 4 years ago. How did that work out? If Ingram doesn't put it together , his draft status will drop just like Poythress' did.

And as for UK not getting any hype..... they'll get some hype but nothing like Duke's class will get from ESPN.

I would imagine that the SEC Network would put an end to any UK-only network. I doubt they would want to see viewers diverted away.

Agree to disagree. Both teams will be ridiculously hyped heading into next season. It's a shame that we'll play Kansas and ya'll have Michigan State in the Champions Classic, though will be cool to see how MSU's class stacks up against UK.

Duke needs another recruit in the top25 if they want to have a better recruiting class, and that's not even including the chances of UK getting Simmons or Alkins.

Don't see Kentucky losing the #1 class ranking. So it will come down to who returns the most. I do think Duke returns more. Their recruits THIS year just aren't getting it done yet. The more that continues, the greater chances of them returning. But anything can happen. If Kentucky returns more than they thought, or if Duke loses more than they thought.. Kentucky will be the rightful #1

Duke IS going to lose what little frontcourt they have this year in Jefferson and Plumlee. They are seniors. Jeter and Obi are going to have to make up serious ground the next year. They need Bolden, or their frontcourt isn't going to be anything special. Giles is a super talent, but I'm not sure what to expect of him next year.

Just for conversation though , isn't that kinda what Notre Dame has done with football ? I've never understood how they can have their own private TV deal .
