Has anyone ever had this run across their mind?

Drew Barker, knows Patrick Towles is going to be the starter regardless, because he has the experience. They might actually have been close in the fall camp, but experience wins out with the coaches, which i do understand. Now maybe Drew has the mind set that in practice now, he is not going to unseat Towles, so he is not as impressive as he might really want to be in practice. Just some food for thought. Now do I want Towles to start against Missouri, I sure do. remember, in practice, the QB'S never get hit. Now, I do think Drew should get a series if we get up on Missouri say by 10 points in the first half. Just 1 series, then put Pat back in. No conflict in QB battle, if explained before the game to team. I am not aware of any conduct issues with Drew, so hope the coaches would consider this. The coaches are afraid if they play Barker and he does well, this will destroy the team, I actually believe that is their mind set. I hope Towles can get it together and lead us to a bowl game.

If that is the case then he should be told to transfer out of here.

How could a backup playing well destroy a team? I don't understand that.

Nothing indicates that Barker would be the type of person to just lay down and let the other person win and not give 100 percent. Barker was one of UK's move active recruiters when he was a senior in high school. That shows he has some leadership ability. I don't think a natural leader just goes out and doesn't give his all. If he is that type of person then he will not be a successful quarterback no matter where he is.

If the season continues on the current trajectory being that UK's offense cannot put together a solid game but we remain competitive in all games I do think we will begin to see him in a few series here and there if not to spark Towles some. The coaches are learning what they have on defense and the level of risk they now can begin to pursue on the offensive end.
