I see no way Harris passes Henry or Drake on the depth chart at Bama. Tyren Jones is 3rd and Altee Tenpenny 4th. Jones will be a redshirt Sophomore that averaged 6.2 Yards per carry with 2TDs. Tenpenny will be a Junior and averaged 5.2 yards per carry. So IMO the best case scenario for Harris is 3rd string with him more likely to be 4th or 5th. Seems to me there is a good chance that Bama redshirts him. At UK he is 1st or 2nd team behind Boom and either way he averages 10+ touches a game as a TRUE FRESHMAN in the same conference. Also Momma gets to come to 8 home games and the Vandy game at least. Come on Damien be a home town legend and a Wildcat #GBB #WHY NOT UK

That's a "John Wall won't go to Kentucky, they already have Eric Bledsoe!" argument. They're Alabama, and guys as good as Damien aren't scared of competition. Maybe he does want to come be the guy for 3 years here, but he knows he'll get his shot if he goes to Alabama.

Name the last Kentucky RB to make it to the NFL. Now name the # of RBs Alabama has put in the NFL in just the last 10 years, with nearly all of them having to sit behind another stud RB for at least a year.

I'm a die hard bleed blue fan and I think he is better off going to Alabama as far as guaranteed pipeline to the NFL. I would LOVE it if he chose Kentucky but if he makes the best decision for him and his career I don't see how anyone can fault that. A lot of money at stake for these players when considering these things.

Great players are rarely worried about competition. We had a lot of guys in the fold already when Lacy, Yeldon, and Henry signed as well. I'm thinking he stays at home, but we have plenty to offer.

You can play 3-4 guards at the same time in basketball....not the same in football. Completely different situation compared to Bledsoe and Wall.

Players don't make it to the NFL because they went to this school or that school...they make it because they have the talent to get there....and BTW all of the Bama RBs who have been drafted all played significant snaps as freshman.

You guys are like UK basketball. If Harris stays home it will be because of the connections he made with the UK staff. Bama is a pure NFL factory powerhouse of a school like UK in basketball. Still, Harris has a tough decision to make.

They're also not stupid enough to think they will leap frog several players ahead of them that are similarly talented and more developed and experienced.

It's not stupidity as much as it is confidence, I think. Regardless, there's nothing wrong with waiting your turn in football. You can't go pro until at least three years anyway, so there's not the sense of urgency for top players to have to get on the field right away. We're going to feature two running backs most years, with a third having a potential role, depending on skill set.

With that in mind, Harris would potentially be in line to have a significant role in his second year, and if an injury occurs, possibly his first.

I want him here at UK as much as anyone but this "he won't play right away at Alabama" is just not right. If he's great, he will see the field. TJ Yeldon played as a true freshman. Drake has fumbling issues so why couldn't he pass him on the depth chart?

He could go down there and redshirt, sure. But if he's as great as we think he is, he is going to play right away. Like someone said, this is the issue we face in basketball. Outsiders wonder why recruits would go here with all the talent around them. We think and our players think, why wouldn't they go here and play with other great players, contend for titles, and be on the fast track to a pro career. It's just the way it is.

With that said, come on Damien. Come be a hero at Kentucky. I was at every CatWalk this year and I believe he was at every game aside from the first one. It would be a shame if he didn't come though I would understand why. Good luck to him either way but boy he would look great in the blue and white.
