Easter represents the greatest act to ever take place. An innocent man offered himself for sacrifice for the good of others, including his enemies. Therefore, there is hope for all mankind, even little brother. Happy Easter to my fellow BBN and all others who haven't yet seen the light! :raised_hands:

Praise The Lord!!!

Many "innocent" men have been crucified....and since he "rose again"....there never really was a sacrifice, right?

Anyhoo.....Go Big Blue!!

When you die you are going to stand before almighty God and give an account for your life. Because He is holy, righteous, and just He is going to judge you by His perfect moral standard in thought, word, and deed. If found guilty of breaking His law because He is holy, righteous, and just He must punish sin. The punishment God has ascribed for sin is eternity in hell.

In addition to being holy, righteous, and just God is also gracious, loving, kind, and merciful. There is only 1 way you can escape His holy wrath. That is through His Son Jesus Christ. 2000 years ago God the Father sent His Son to Earth in the person of Jesus Christ fully God and fully man without sin.

Unlike you or I He never broke God's law in thought, word, or deed. He was the perfect sinless Lamb of God. In about 30-33 years into that existence, He voluntarily went to the cross and suffered a bloody and horrible death that He did not deserve to take upon Himself the punishment that you and I rightfully deserve for our sins against God.

Then, 3 days later He forever defeated sin and death when He rose from the grave. Now what God has commanded of you and the same He commands of me and people everywhere is to repent, turn from your sin, and by faith and faith alone receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and your Savior.

God literally looked at His Son, who knew no sin, as though He lived your life. In return, God looks at you as though you lived His Son's perfect life. Jesus says unless a person is born again they will not inherit the kingdom of heaven. He will give you a new heart with new desires. You will begin to hate the things God hates and love the things God loves. When you do die and stand before Him instead of receiving what you deserve for your sin which is hell you will receive what you don't deserve which is grace, mercy, and eternal life with Jesus Christ the Lord.

This will be my last post on the subject, after all this is a sports board....that is why I made my original comment....normally, What others believe doesn't bother me, but if you are going to preach to me on a sports forum...I feel I have to respond....

Your omniscient god let me come into the world knowing the path I would choose....knowing he would send me to hell.....how sick is that? Fortunately, none of that is true....it's all fairy tales made up by a bunch of Bronze Age goat herders.

I won't begrudge you your beliefs....life is hard, and if believing in these fairy tales helps you get through it, then I understand.

And so you know, I grew up in the church, spent 4 years at a Christian university and know the Bible backwards and forwards.

Now, do you think we will get Bamba? I think he is the missing piece!

Respectfully,

OPINPI

I assume you are agnostic?

Yes, God knew what path you'd take. But he gave you life and free will. It's like This argument that is also used often. "Why would God allow the devil to do this." Well, why does God allow you and I the same? Because he will not force his creatures to go his way. He's a loving father, but sin will not be allowed in his house.

Christian college boy here too. Union University in Tennessee for two years.

I'd also say knowing the Bible doesn't mean you understand it. Satan knows the Bible better than anyone and can't comprehend revelation.

*Your first post ended with a question mark.
*I answered.
*You get the answer and then claim you are being preached to.

I don't click on threads titled post pics of hot women and then make a post in that thread asking why are people posting pics of scantily clad women.

You mentioned this being a sports forum. I suspect only certain threads about non sports elicit a response from you. Given the title of this thread and the post you made my post was objectively on topic.

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

Anyhoo.....Go Big Blue!!

In life we tend to ignore things that don't bother us. For instance, I don't post on Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis basketball. If a thread was created on Rafters entitled IUPUI, I wouldn't click on it because it doesn't hold any significance in my life. I hope that you calling attention to my post means that deep down inside your soul you're still bothered by your faith and that the light hasn't completely burned out. If so, let it shine brother, let it shine. If not, know that I'm not judging you, but instead will use my time hoping and praying that you once again open your heart to GOD's glory. As you said, GOD already knows your plan and maybe your plan isn't solidified at this point in time. Heck, just think how many times we've thought our season was doomed only to see Cal pull things together and have the team make a run at the Final Four. If Cal can do it with UK basketball, I'd venture to say GOD has a shot with you. [winking]

I sense a frustrated torment within the BBN concerning belief choices made by individuals within the flock. The enlightenment they seek to observe in others is a manifestation of the Devil inhabiting the soul of the individual reflected in the mirror they view. I have my demons as we all do and they are mine alone. My salvation is through grace of God. God didn't need a son, we as sinners needed our Christ Jesus. We were born as beasts and are redeemed by a forgiving of our personal sin not the sin of another. We live in a world of incomprehensible complexity. There is this lust for pleasure. To some, not all, this entices a thirst to sin, a personal demonic presence. It can manifest itself as alcoholism, drug addiction, sexual perversion, greed or a thousand thousand other forms of deviancy. As we navigate this multifarious maize together understand the actions of your brothers and sisters may present the answers you seek not the source of corruption. The corrupt deceitful paradigms you see and feel in others is likely the sinful lust of the ID. God understands this and Jesus provides the path for our salvation though this journey as Christians. As God forgives our transgressions as we learn and grow in this light, we too must forgive not just one another but ourselves as well. The blessed Christ is the vehicle for our cleansing. Easter is our celebration for having been given this opportunity. May God bless the BBN individual journeys as we share this wonderful ride learning through the growth of young men playing basketball. I pray your Easter was Blessed today. Mine sure was.
