Happy upcoming new season ! I count this going all the way back to 1975. book it. Happy to see the Pope era begin ! Never had more happiness to it even counting watching "The Door" update here on the site wayyyy back when... and heck, we were already long timers on the site by then, right? You all know you were here watching with the rest of us !
... and how in the heck did I move to Arizona, only to end up back in Morganfield Kentucky only a half year later ? I'll call it ... the POPE EFFECT ! Kentucky didn't make it with me to move to Arizona last year, I would've been there to see a title game !! But it wasn't mean to be. I will remain grateful for swaggy Cal years! I wish Cal had done a few things differently, ultimately. But the Calipari era had to end. Thanks again Cal, now we can see you against us, like many coaches before ! It'll be fun !
And I'm basically too hick poor for Arizona, I'd rather not be in the desert, but the hills. Some greenery. Water. Peace & harmony. Nice to be right back with friends here in Kentucky, this is home !
So let it be ! I am so excited for our Kentucky Wildcats this year !!!

Haven’t been this excited for a season to start since probably 1996! Cal’s first few seasons were intoxicating to be sure -especially with Wall and Cuz the first year. That made UK exciting again. Deep down, I think most all of us knew we’d “sold our souls” to the devil and sure enough - we had. UK was NEVER top priority and winning championships and tourney games were basically “an inconvenience”.
So extremely glad the snake oil salesman is spewing his bilge in Razorback country now!
Good riddance and can’t wait to see Pope’s teams play - for the UNIVERSITY and not for themselves!
