Grumpy, what happened in that championship game.

It isn't really possible for multiple refs to be that blind. Does Georgia have a dirty ref problem? That so called win needs to be stripped from Sandy Creek.

Man I don't know what to tell you. I was watching the game and when ghey signaled TD, I was thinking I got faked out on who had the ball. But replayed showed what you and me both saw. I have no answer for your question. That was a 3rd down play, so to say it was a game changer is a little premature. But like you I was thinking how is that a TD. So I have no answer for you.

In 2020, on the road at Auburn, C-rod’s entire body with the ball held in front of him entered the end zone. Even after review it was called a stop.

I have wondered since that day if we might really have major problems with officiating honesty.

I remember that play, with a review, and they still got it wrong. AU had 2 games that year that officials mistakes gave them wins.

This crew must've thought they were auditioning for the SEC.

Have heard HS crews are getting pretty thin. Low pay, abuse and threats from fans are increasing the scarcity in some areas. One state had to bring in crews from 200 miles away to cover games. And it's supposedly worse in basketball. It'll be interesting to see if these shortages continue at the pace they're going now.

And he was a good half yard into the end zone. That was easily the most obvious TD I have ever seen not get called a TD.

Regarding the TD in the OP, not sure how the winning team can even feel good about that. That’s not winning anything, it’s just being given to you, kind of like the 2020…..naw I won’t go there 😉

That is definitely the case. In fact numbers were so short that some varsity games were moved to Thursday and Saturday because no officials. Granted there were always some varsity games on Saturday, but always by choice. This is in Ga.

For those with long memories, the 2010 bowl game against Pitt who had no coach for the game. I believe Mike Wanstedt came off the street to coach.

Anyway, Pitt qb threw a lateral that wasn’t caught and scooped up for a td but Avery Williamson I believe. It was ruled a td. After review, even as the ball clearly went backward about a yard, it was overturned.

So yes, it seems we have a bad ref problem. This is UK football so I’m sure y’all have a bajillion other instances of ref fraud.

God, I love naive people. They're so much fun to be around.

Money+ betting= corruption
I’ve told this story on here before but I’m gonna say it again. The biggest cheater I’ve known in my life, cheated in games when we were kids , cheated by using illegal balls in softball tournaments, cheated as a middle school baseball coach , cheated at golf . This guy officiated some Kentucky High School Basketball Championship games and went on to be an official in the OVC . There is not a doubt in my mind that he would be “on the take” if he was approached. I’m sure there are others like him .

Decades ago knew of a HS official, football/basketball, with the last name of Deal. Had a nick he promoted himself that was dubious. The nick? "Dirty."
