great post . Dakari is our best post player on O but when he is hacked and grabbed he can only do some much . The refs have to call it or we need to just shoot 3s.Originally posted by hotelblue:
congrats to marcus. you guys bashing johnson i don't get. he's been a featured offensive staple now for let's see...wait...one game. the game you just saw. he's really the only mismatch position player we have in the paint, and his sealing his man in key moments lately is the one and only reason cal is ordering the ball inside. his game was a classic example of a guy knowing he's going to get the ball for the first time and rushed his moves early. even during the game he settled down and was on his way to another 7 or 8 out 10 performance on the line. but the last two times he was hacked he didn't get the whistle. he's a major weapon, we need him, and he'll be fine. i'd keep giving him the ball.
When was the last time he passed out of the post? As I said in another thread, he's turned into the "bad" Julius Randle. Teams didn't fear doubling Julius because they knew he wouldn't pass. Same is true for Dakari. Once Julius started passing out of the post, our offense improved. Dakari was actually doing it early in the year, but he's reverted to shooting every single time he touches it in the post, and that makes it really easy for defenses.Originally posted by caneintally:
