Georgia State at Kentucky (Game 1)

Probably should get the lineup any minute now. I look for it to be a bit different than what we have seen. This series will be an interesting one as Georgia State has snuck up and beaten some good teams. They are just 4-10, but they have played West Virginia, Georgia, Vanderbilt, Georgia Tech, and Tennessee. UK will actually be the first unranked team that Georgia State has played this year. WVU was ranked 14th at the time Ga State took 2 of 4 from them, and actually scored 20 runs against them in 1 game. They also took Game 1 of the Vanderbilt 4 game series before beating 10th ranked Georgia Tech in the midweek. They did get swept by UT this past weekend. So, they are no stranger to good opponents and have beaten them on occasion. So, we will see where we stand with this one.

I dunno... I just do not like the idea of basically having 0 outfielders playing outfield. Anu, by all accounts, is pretty terrible in the OF and you probably have him in the toughest spot out there. Then Schultz has basically been in the OF for less than 2 months and you have him in center next to two guys who are also learning the position(s) as they go. Pretty scary if you ask me.

Takes out Hill, who is hitting .280 and our best defensive outfielder while still playing Collett who is a liability at first and hitting just .226.

If he wanted to boost the offense it might make more sense to have Harmon at 1B, Anu at DH and Hill still in the lineup. Then you've really got the best of all worlds.

We will see how this works though.

Georgia State, not Southern, is usually a decent mid-major. Georgia Southern, not State, is typically better.

UK did a good job getting out of a jam. Gave up back to back singles but got a double play and a ground out to end the threat and not give up a run.
