Game winner by Jokic

I can't stand the Warriors, especially Thompson and Green. Kerr is a little witch as well.

Nobody likes Thompson and Curry is getting frustrated with having to pack this team with bloated contracts. But, Curry turned it over and put up terrible shots in the final 2 minutes of the game.

Seeing the Warriors and Lakers struggling this year brings joy to my heart.

Get use to Jokic bringing in the hardware. He is the real deal. Like all greats while they played, there is no counter. He does what he wants. Great Basketball Player.
He should be going for his 4th straight MVP and be the first to ever do it

Dude is basically single handed-ly saving my fantasy team. Love that 1st overall pick!

It's also worth noting that THE best player on the planet right now (Jokic, if you're unaware), is NOT that great of a defender. He's not great by himself in the paint, and he's not a rim protector. He's not a bad defender otherwise, just that it's the part of his game that's always been his weakness, and there's plenty of other big who are better here. He's focusing more on scoring and running the offense through him, than exerting his energy on the other end of the floor.

All that to say: when Kentucky's defense isn't great, or a player puts up a great offensive game, but maybe only puts in decent effort on the defensive end.. don't fret too much over it.

Jokic won Denver a title, and he did this largely by being an absurdly great offensive center, while only being so-so as a defender. That style of play (when fine tuned and done right), can win games.

Recorded it and watched this morning. Jokic is old school BBall at it's best. He's a lot like Larry Bird in that sense. Decent athlete but his biggest weapon is his brain.

He’s a bad man. Definitely one of the first if not the first guys I’d pick if I was putting a team together.

Gordon and Brown played very good defense for them to win the championship last year.

Embiid isn't as good as Joker but he's having a fantastic year and I had no issues with him winning MVP last year.

That said, I agree with the tweet. Nobody stopping Denver this year.

But when Gordon is pulled out, it would sometimes leave Jokic alone. And I think when that happened there was never a push from Jokic, or Coaching, for Jokic to really clamp down on defense. I got the sense when it came to defense from Jokic it was a "bend but don't break", because Jokic is far more valuable to the team long term than trying to contest shots and battle on defense.

Surprised Phoenix doesn't have a better record. Is it mainly due to injuries?

Sorry, don't follow nba much anymore until playoffs.

I agree Denver is the clear favorite though.

I'd go with Boston now. Denver is not very deep.

Hot take: Devin Booker isn't much of a leader and maybe not a big "winning basketball" type of player. And he can get exposed by better players. He can score 60 at will, but I don't think he's a #1, as crazy as that may sound.

And we all know KD is terrible as a leader. I don't think they are a good fit together. Plus Beal is injured, and in Booker's defense, I don't think he's been 100% at any point this year, he's got some foot problems that seem likely to take an off-season to rehab.

Props to malone for calling the TO to give him the chance at the end too. Didn't look like they had a setup to get down and get that shot without the reset. I needed 1 more rebound from joker for my parlay too smh I thought OT had my back

Yep, Embiid can’t hold his jok(ic). Totally political move giving him the MVP last year.
Embid should be the two time MVP. Embid was stuck with the cancer that is James Harden for two years. Harden is not a guy you want to go to battle with.

He's a fine athlete. He just doesn't have the usual athlete's body shape. He's what they used to call "portly". He does all the moves that traditional athlete's do, but he doesn't bend low to do them.

Yeah, Beal's been down for about 90% of the season so far. Durant's been out lately, too. Booker's been banged up.

Beal is redundant with what Booker provides. That was a strange move by Phoenix. Now, they have absolutely no depth.

And I can't get with you on Booker being a weak leader thing. He led his team to the finals a few seasons ago, and he did it as a 25 year old. How many guys under the age of 25 have been able to do that in the history of the NBA?

He's surrounded by bad pieces right now.

He plays a like a bigger and slightly slower Larry Bird.

I would use all those references for Chris Paul so if Beal gets healthy, they have a shot imo. Denver is still clearly the favorite. Not buying Minnesota, GSW or the Lakers.

All in on OKC though. A sneaky good team on the rise but perhaps a year away.

I think Denver has the best starting lineup but maybe Celtics have a better bench now

That's kind of my thought. The problem here is that Denver has less room for a key injury IMO.

But there's still a long ways to go. LA Clippers are cooking, Sacramento will still be there, Philly and Mil are right there.

Crazy thing about Jokic is he is far from some crazy athlete... as an athlete he is probably about average. But he just dominates game in and game out. High basketball IQ and plays like he wants it more than anybody else on the court.

He’s a complete basketball player. Just shows that you can be great, if you master every area of the game.

Yeah and they can’t stay healthy, especially Beal, I would trade him right now for 2 quality 2 way players.

I agree Jokic deserved it but Embiid had a hell of a year and he’s even better this year.
Phoenix and Philly could both be addition by subtraction, meaning losing Paul and Harden might make them both better in the long run. Perhaps the ball isn't sticking anymore creating better ball movement without those guys.
