Such a shame, that technical foul called om Humpries toward the end of the game! The poor guy played hard and well only to allow his exuberance to cost his team a win in a hard fought 2nd half.

Still, the game wouldn't have been so close except for the exceptional rebounding [(17?) offensive] by A&M, mostly in the first half. I just can't understand why the Cats bigs just stood around watching them rebound when everybody knew that A&M had some big tough big men. In the 2nd half the blistered Cats rebounded better, if still not well.

I thought our guys played well on defense. Our guards were shooting well. But this team somehow doesn't seem to recognize the greater importance of some few games in supporting good SEC & NCAA tournament positions. If the Cats had fought as Hard on the boards as the Aggies did, we'd have won by 12-14 points.

I had thought that Cal might be stretching out Poythress' bench ride in order to have him super well and strong for the tournaments. But now I think not, else Cal would have used him tonight--he was never more needed.

While I'm Here: A funnt moment in the Nebraska-Ohio State game. At one point OSU's Tate was guarding Nebraska's Webster and challenged Webster by slapping his palms on the floor as some poorly coached show-offs sometimes do. Then as Tate was doing this taunting, Webster blew right past him. Tate had to feel rather silly.
