We all know this board is full of reactionaries. Its hard as a fan not to live and die by every game, and we really tend to do that here. Baylor currently has the #1 next to their name, although that's soon to change. But right now its technically a factual statement to say "Baylor is the number 1 team in the nation". Obviously, having lost twice this week, one of which was a loss today against a crap Oklahoma State team, they are not the best team in the nation as of today. Kentucky would've beat them by 40 today. Last week Baylor was untouchable, favorites to win it all, and Scott Drew could do no wrong. Now, they're still a good team and they'll likely get rolling again and are certainly still a contender, but when we get outside our bubble you can see other programs and see how a season has its ebbs and flows. I'll admit when we lost to ND, I figured I needed to really adjust my expectations for this team and I expressed my frustrations about Cal.

After watching today's game its hard not to get excited about the possibilities for this team. Gonzaga hung 115 on Santa Clara today, but we put 107 on a ranked team!! However, its almost certain UK will have a letdown and look like crap again at some point this season. But what we saw today is who this team is. Probably won't touch the efficiency they put up today, those were video game numbers, but this team is good and getting better, and they know it. What today showed me is that this team is a legitimate contender, and they are holding themselves to that standard. So freaking excited about this day in sports. Just saw the Bengals win their first playoff game of my lifetime and I'm no spring chicken. Really excited about this Cats team and ready to get hurt again. Next time they lose though, I think I'll have an easier time of seeing the bigger picture. Hope ya'll can do the same BECAUSE WE GOT US A FREAKIN SQUAD!!!
