Really talked him up as being a well-rounded player. Said he can take his guy out to the 3 pt line, and is a shot blocker too. Hope he's right. I know this gets said a lot here, but the next class just might be our best one as far as athleticism and versatility.

I agree. When Cal went out and got these guys I told a friend that this might be the best class he has gotten since Cal got here. Some people might not agree but that OK.

I would really like to see some guys from this years team stay one more year. Having a veteran presence would be a huge plus next year. dare I say fort….. Nahhh.

Lol phantom, welcome to rafters! Here's a synopsis of what I did.

1. Great news-this was true. I can't wait to see him play.
2. His coaching saying he sucked and would be lucky to see any minutes-this was a joke since no coach will ever down grade any player they coach from 0-5 stars
3. I'm sorry that went over your head
4.post in peace my friend

Well we know these guys will be back:

Matthews
Humphries
Mulder
Willis
Hawkins
Floreal
Winyard

That's 7 plus the 5 freshmen = 12

That leaves just one spot left for another freshmen (Simmons) or somebody returns out of:

Ulis
Briscoe
Lee

So I think we'll have plenty of a veteran presence next year to help lead the freshmen.

Hasn't Floreal always been a preferred walk-on with a schollie if one was available? If so, he shouldn't be included when counting spots.

I truly believe ulis will be back. Lee is a toss up. Sure ulis is one of if not the best pgs in college, but his size makes it hard for him to be a guarnteed 1st round pick. If he does go he will be 2nd round because not a whole lot of teams are going to draft him that high with a guy of his stature. He's proving this yr he's nba material, but I think he needs one more yr to solidify his place in the nba as well as the first round with guaranteed money.

I see no reason why it wouldn't at least be a discussion piece if UK returned some combination of Ulis/Briscoe/Lee or returned Briscoe and added Bolden.

What we can conclude on Monk and Fox is that they're both lottery level guards. Cal has never brought in two top 10 draft pick guards in one class. I mean, imagine Derrick Rose and Eric Gordon playing together in '07-08. I think UK's backcourt will be on a similar level next season. If Bam and Gabriel play at a top 20 pick level, and if someone like Briscoe returned the shore up the perimeter defense and add leadership, UK would have be right there in that 38-2, 37-3 range. Add or return another big (I don't see Cal going wit SKJ as a freshman starter) and UK's interior would be another strength.

All that, and I suspect Calipari would like to run the table with an all-freshman lineup before he calls it quits. He'd be the only coach to win it all with five freshmen and the only coach to go perfect in a season.

All good points, but I think he'll get an NBA team to promise him a spot in the second round and sign him up as a backup in the league. He'd be a good day-to-day guy in the league, playing the sparkplug role like Earl Boykins did for years and years.

I could see Briscoe returning. His defense is NBA-ready (as is his ability to rebound for a guard) but I don't see it yet from an offensive level. Of course, with a good month in the early spring, he'd likely bounce out of Lexington, but I could see a scenario where he returns and plays alongside Fox and Monk.

He's going to be biggest surprise of the 2016 class I feel. He has all of the tools and the talent to be a breakout star and top 3 NBA pick. He is very underrated, as I feel that only Giles, Tatum, Fox, Monk, and Jackson should be the only ones ranked ahead of him, but he can easily hold his own in that group.

Without Ulis that's a GREAT team.
WITH Ulis that's a team that I have to believe would be a bit better than UK-2015.

If they could re-do the 2010 draft, Wall and Bledsoe would both be top 10. Probably something like 2 or 3 and 7.

Paul George would pass Wall. Cousins would get a hard look.
