I then have to retract my statement that he wouldn't be man enough to resign. I underestimated him in that regard.
In all honesty, I have to give him some credit... the man did a decent job in regards to making sure that we continued on a pretty decent path and he kept talented players in the pipeline. I don't think that translated to success on the field, but, unlike Joker, he at least kept the talent level pretty high so that the next coach should be able to come in and have something to work with. Unfortunately, he stepped away in the one year that the talent will be much less experienced and we will probably struggle, but the talent is still there. A new coach has to be excited about having Evan White, a possible All American, and even excited about having a pitcher throw upwards of 100mph. So, I think the talent is there for us to be successful quickly, and in that regard I thank Henderson for being able to at least make sure Kentucky stays as a relevant baseball team rather than allowing us to slide back into being a total bottom feeder.
