Wouldn't it be comical if CMS and company were losing recruits because the coaches have told them they have been recruited over and they're letting them know early so they can land at another school? Wouldn't that shut up all the Negative Nellie's.

Nobody will ever know for sure. The coaches don't comment on they guys they didn't get or take. I hope it's the case but even if it was our football ignorant fans wouldn't believe it, just so they could complain.

A very unlikely scenario that 4 stars have been recruited over and asked to go elsewhere. Is it possible that this happened with one or two of the recruits. Possible but not likely.

Not likely and honestly I would be very disappointed if it were to be the case. I don't like it any more than these kids being able to just flip and go somewhere else, and its just as much a part of the problem with all the flipping going on as the kids changing their mind. For months or years they have a scholarship till Billy Bob 5 star decides to commit then they have to find somewhere else to go and with not a lot of time left to decide. Offer the kids you want period, once the class is full that should be it, I've heard other fan bases try and defend it but to me it's shady.

Yall tend to forget that this is a business. If a five star wants to commit and he's the real deal then they will make room for them. That's just the nature of beast. Coaches jobs are on the line to take the best players possible so they don't care if somebodies feelings get hurt.

Look here, folks... better get over this need to always get a warm fuzzy over what goes down in UK football recruiting, because that simply isn't how it is done in the conference in which we are trying to compete.

I think there might be a mix of defection and deflection to explain what is happening with our recruits at this stage, I have no problem with either, really.

If the Dowell boys want to hang out for 4 years in the garden spot that is East Lansing, MI, more power to them and their folks. I consider it quite likely that the BS that went down in Richmond over this past weekend might have motivated their parents to insist they were staying closer to home, as much as any late season skid on the field. Maybe we still turn that thing around and leave Dantonio stewing in his own juices. Maybe not. Things happen. People are entitled to make their own decisions, for their own reasons.

That being said, what's good for the goose, is good for the gander. If kids can walk or balk right up to the time they have a pen in their hand on NSD, as we have witnessed since early this month, then to whatever extent we might be telling some kids to walk, I have no problem with it, all the way to 11:59:59.

All of this foolishness demands reform, but the Bigs won't have it. They love their shark tank. Maybe someday we can sign HS football players right before fall camp starts. That is the only time that would make much sense for early signing, IMO.

Not all the so called big time programs do this, just a few, only two come to mind in the SEC. Listen I don't care how other programs work out their recruiting and offers, we are still dealing with kids, I mean really people seem to forget this, these are kids who are most likely only playing to get an education. Someone has to have some type of moral responsibility if we are willing to do this engage in this type of shady business why not just break out the wallet and get it over with, just pay them to come play.

I think Stoops answered this question for us tonight on ESPN. He said " we need to get that early signing period, been a rough week". that tells me that he didn't send players packing !

I didn't catch him before the game, but that is funny he would say that. I believe another thread there was discussions about an early signing period and someone said Coach Stoops was against it. If that is true, it is amazing how quickly someone changes their mind when things don't work out very well in the way they previously liked it (meaning no early signing period).
