1. I had lived for a week thinking the game was at 3:30. Soooo, I made my group
late, missing Eastern’s block and score.

Maybe the whole team had a thirty minute lapse.

2. EKU’s Quarterback.

Find out his class level and if he has a year left, snag him in the portal. A heady game by a kid with talent. The second EKU touchdown burned White’s blitz almost as though the EKU Coaches knew it was coming . . . how many of their coaches have worked in Lexington?

3. Leary.

It’s like he’s either dropping it in a paint bucket from 30 yards, or not very close at all. From the end of the second quarter until the last drive, he was dialed-in and made many beautiful throws.

4. O-line: maybe the whole team gets a C minus for the lackadaisical performance, but some Leary completions were after 5 seconds in a clean pocket. Largely good
protection throughout.

5. D-line. Had some moments, but many EKU completions were after 5 seconds in a clean pocket. I hoped for and expected more penetration from our front 3/4.

6. Davis. Nice TD catch, and solid running, against a tougher than expected FCS opponent.

7. Tavion Robinson. For the first time since mid-season, last year, the third Major Threat among our wide receivers emerged and showed out. If he and BB and Key can maintain this level of play, we should continue scoring points. He had the hot hand, and Levis/Coen wisely rode him.

8. Defense. The name I had expected to hear at the top of the heap has had a quiet start. DJack has been solid, but the “big play” he had lived on for three seasons has alluded him, to date. Yes, he has a talented sidekick in Wallace, but I hope their numbers are closer by the end of the year.

9. Special Teams. Yeah, they got a punt, but our snaps and cohesion still look miles ahead of last year.

10. Ho-Hum. Yep, this has been as anti-climatic a start to a season as we’ve had since Southern Mississippi upset us in 2016.

At least this ho-him start has not involved a loss.

Even the stadium has been a very subdued atmosphere, the team and crowd seem to be waiting for an SEC opponent to get roudy . . . a bad attitude.

I’ll be 30 minutes early for the Zips!! A change of attitude has to start somewhere!!!

Was there myself but don’t blame the crowd. That was a hard game to get into. Most lackadaisical play I’ve seen in person in a long time.

Disappointed we didn't commit to run. Two years ago, going to the air too often was my only complaint of coen. Hopefully Davis is ok, because we havent seen too much production out of the rest of that room.

I'll add one more coen criticism, even though I think he's awesome. He tries way too hard to get people a certain number of touches. Just call the game and let the offense naturally operate. Stop forcing things just to spread it around.

Leary was off a but early, missing high. At the same time his wrs didn't help him by dropping some beautiful throws their way. Eventually he got his sights set and threw some of the best passes by a UK QB since couch. Just beautiful.

Cummings is someone they're trying to get the ball. Have him a deep shot both weeks. Nothing weeks he dropped it.

Dingle is just godawful blocking. Inexcusably bad for someone his size. They're rotating yes in and out based on run/pass. I get why they're doing it, and that sometimes they're using the tendency against the opponent, but imo if you won't block you shouldn't see the field as a te.

Eku ran tons of picks/rubs for easy completions. Not sure why we stayed man so long since they constantly went to that. Surprised to see us bring the house so often too. It didn't turn out well.

Trevin is gone after this season. Enjoy him.

Deone gets held constantly with no call. Why on earth was the targeting picked up? It was textbook targeting at least two different ways.

Yep. The targeting was late, and forcible contact with the crown of the helmet to the head/neck area of a defenseless player.

HELLOOOOO!!
