It's almost impossible to win with a 2-1 foul disadvantage. We got bent over

You've said this in at least 3 different threads. Did someone lead you to believe the fouls should be even at the end of the game. The string likelihood is that we fouled more than they did.

Refs didn't beat us.

The issue is that the refs swallowed their whistles on the other end. I can't remember seeing a team all season who has had to contend with more of an officiating disadvantage than we do. It's really getting out of hand, especially in SEC road contests.

I bet that, if we had the ability to examine SEC Officials' tax returns and compared them with their actual assets, we'd see some surprising irregularities.

Poor Ulis was mugged down low several times and Briscoe got two phantom calls. Alex's second foul was a flop.

Murray..Ulis..Briscoe...16/FIFTY ONE

Yep. And what we really miss on those possessions inside 2 minutes is a "go to" big man that we can dump it in to. The absence of one seemed to make Ulis work too hard to try & do a little too much at the end.

Refs didn't beat us.

True, the officiating was bad, but it is pretty much irrelevant.

You know going into the game officiating will be bad. Good teams overcome it. Great teams barely even notice it.

We played horribly today. Our guards couldn't hit and our bigs mostly no-showed again.

Can't dwell on the refs. Auburn is horrible, and we should beat them 10 times out of 10 even with bad refs.

We have to focus instead on how we get better. No obvious answers there, I am afraid.

Yep. To me it is embarrassing as a UK fan to blame a loss to a 7-8 team on the refs.

Tell me which fouls we didnt commit??
Alexis first two fouls were bs. The first one Auburn player jumps for a rebound Alex starts up court before he comes down he falls foul on Alex. The second one don't know if the guy steps on Alex's foot or fell on his own but again foul on Alex.

They were chucking threes. We had guys retreating on layups and still getting whistled.

UK is my second team in all sports. I can assure you that the product from AU the last 5 games or so have been some of the worst basketball I have ever seen. AU is missing 3 starters and 4 of the top 8 from fall practice and most of these is recent injuries. Playing multiple walk-ons and really only having a couple true threats to score with no size should have resulted in a UK cakewalk. I am astonished.

We were up 12 in 2nd half. Against a mediocre team. Have to learn to close that out.

Yep. You push the lead to 20 against a team like Auburn, not fold like a cheap tent.

I thought it was bad considering their only goal was to jack up a 26 footer and we were driving every play.

That's the SEC, though. We don't get sucked off on the road like kansas, unc and duke do.

Auburn did get away with a lot of obvious fouls. Not an excuse but they got away with a lot.

The officiating was bad. And Auburn hit 3's they will never hit again. But even if the officiating had been OK, and Auburn short normally.. we probably win, but doesn't really change anything for this team. Our outlook is not good, and I don't see this team doing anything to change the trajectory.

Buy hey, UConn won 2 national championships in the last few years, and they were pretty bad through the regular season. So who knows. But I am not investing anything in this team, until I see their will to fight.

They went to the line 30 times to UK's 18. We went through a couple of stretches in the second half after getting a 12 point lead and couldn't hit anything. Look at this weeks Top 20 and alot of teams were beat on the road and home this week. I don't think its UK is not that good this year because there are alot of good teams that are not that good this year. This is a Weak Men's NCAA Basketball year.

I don't think Auburn was called for a foul in the last 8 minutes of the game. 8 minutes of not fouling against a team that's driving the lane? Yea I agree UK needs to get a killer instinct when up by double figures but the refs can also dictate on how the game goes.

I did notice these as well. I was pretty perplexed at those.

It's part of the reason why the sec sucks when it counts. We have to get tougher, and play through obvious terrible refs. We do that, and we'll be okay.

Shhhhh, let them think it was the refs. You can spot the ones who never played, coached or refed a game in their life.

So you are OK with the status quo? You think there can't be improvement with the way our games are officiated? It's tough to win with an obviously finesse team in a physical league when games are called this way.

We don't have an identity and played below average today, but to say the officiating didn't play a huge role in the way the game turned out is ridiculous.
