Forrest NC A&T

If that’s how Oweh really felt then there would be no need to go through the process because he’s never gonna be a 1st round pick.

Despite his public statements, clearly he is looking for something else.
This is so silly, there really isn't a response for it. If it is so clear to you, what is it he is looking for ?

Love the folks that can look at a piece of paper and their next words are a resounding "No Thanks". Im thinking lets maybe see what the Coach thinks,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I wrote this in the other thread about adding a player once Perry entered the portal, but it fits here, too, as he kinda matches the exact criteria I mentioned below...

If he doesn't return, one realistic possibility for Perry's scholarship could be a guard from a low mid-major who could potentially still make more $$$ at the end of the bench at UK than he would staying where he is.

Maybe find a point guard or combo guard who could fill in if there were some significant injuries, but maybe has some limitations in his game - not a great perimeter shooter or maybe is a good shooter but not quite as athletic. Here are a few examples that may fit those criteria (No idea what kind of NIL money these guys are getting or their mindset of wanting to join a championship contender vs playing more):

Proximity and/or Pope saw first hand as an opponent:
Miles Rigsby - Troy
Dezayne Mingo - Marshall
Marvel Allen - Dayton (has horrible history of injuries, so not sure about this one)
George Kimble III - EKU
Don McHenry - WKU

Playing at lower level (non P5)
Denver Anglin - Rice
Amaree Abram - La Tech (transferred to La Tech from Ole Miss, so he probably wants more playing time)
Dominick Nelson - Utah Valley
Kezz Giffa - High Point
Seth Hubbard - Toledo
Kimble is a nice player. Did he find a school yet?

Maybe he moves someone else down, who moves someone else down to the 13th spot. The last player we signed Aberdeen, is he the 12th player off the bench ? Just because we have 12 guys when someone signs, doesn't mean they will be #13 in the rotation ;) . Some on here try to over analyze EVERYTHING.

I don’t know anything about this kid. But I know what 19 ppg means. Do I care how he gets those points? I do not. He can hit 4 three’s a game and nothing else or he can hit 10 layups and no threes. When the horn sounds the points are the same either way.

Y’all are too hung up on the shooting sometimes

What he hears from the “process” is no different than from what Pope told him at the end of the season. Work on your jumper, work on your handles. I mean it’s no secret what he needs to work on to elevate himself.

When i say looking for something else im referring to him seeing if he can play himself into a top 45 pick and a guaranteed contract. Has nothing to do with transferring. He doesn’t need to go through the process to know he’s not going 1st round

You just need to learn how it works more.

It's not just about the on-court stuff, it's also a chance to sit down and meet with executives and scouts for a lot of these teams and make a really positive impression- they become a lot more likely to give you serious looks the following year if there has been a positive relationship established and a positive impression made.

This process and period of time is the only time a guy like Oweh might get to sit down with front-office execs from a wide-array of teams.

The feedback also isn't just about on the court stuff either, it's feedback on dieting, lifestyle, etc.

There's so much value that can come out of this opportunity, there's a reason so many guys do it.

Yeah but he appears to be a guy who needed 30 shots to hit those 10 layups, when you can get a guy like Brea who scores 20 on 8-10 shots.

Well for starters we don’t have him yet. We also don’t know what role pope is selling him on. I can almost guarantee it isn’t for him to be Brea replacement. We’ll see I guess

Really sort of need a guy of Travis Perry level who is willing to sit the bench but make some money and be a good teammate.

Brea scored 20 or more exactly 6 times all year. In games where he didn't hit a bunch of 3's, he struggled. Here are 14 examples :
Games where the 3 wasn't falling. So yes, he did score 20 or more 6 times, but he had more than double the games where he wasn't hot. Below are 14 games where he shot less than 30% from 3. He was simply a 3 point specialist (or depended) and didn't score much otherwise.

He is a scorer, but to my view ... his shooting ability is suspect, including from the free-throw line at 63.3% career, plus he averages more turnovers than assists. I don't know ... ????

I can handle someone struggling from the field… example forcing shots BUT if you can’t hit free throws at a 70% clip hard to put you on the floor during crunch time.

If you need any proof that interviewing well with coaches and executives matters just look at the Sanders debacle in the NFL draft.

Maybe he shot so bad because he was doubled team crossing half court and his team was terrible and had no one else worth a flip. Nah, that couldn't be it, just look at his shooting %'s and form an opinion. Do some of you not understand that players when they are surrounded by other players and not forced to fight every second of a possession to try to get open, their %'s go up ??? Think of it like this, put someone like Oweh on NC A&T and see what his %'s look like. I promise you, they won't be stellar. Teams gameplan to stop HIM, not NC A&T. You stop him, you stop them.
63% freee throw shooter?
