It's really the repeat offenders punishment. SMU got it because they continued to pay players while they were on probation for paying players. UL is kind of in the same boat. They've been on probation for sex for players and apparently now paying for players. If the NCAA doesn't shut them down, then they need to get rid of that punishment from their books as it would serve no purpose. Continuing to put a program on probation and limiting scholarships only hurts a little. For such egregious violations, you have to shut them down.
