Follow-up to the topic of KSR's mysterious source about Bamba

So, MJ last week said he was told by someone he thought would know that Bamba wasn't going to UK. He told Drew Franklin off-air who it was, and Drew agreed it was a good source. Well, just now Franklin said he has since asked someone about that source and was told that person would not know.

So, now it's clear as mud, huh?

You know guys, it is possible for someone you generally trust to tell you something, then later find out new info and change your opinion. It doesn't make people wrong or a source bad.

And if you don't think KSR has good sources you're obviously just hating. You don't have to like the show or website but they get pretty good info generally. No outlet is perfect.

I like Matt and the show. I check KSR nearly daily if not more often than that. Its a quick and easy way to scan news about UK sports.

I will say I was a bit disappointed in his post in the thread the other day. Rather than offer explanation of his source or why it was brought up he went on a rant about people complaining about him. It just seemed like a strange stance to take to me.

However, that doesn't change my mind about the guy or his program. I do think its very possible for a source to normally be solid and maybe not be as connected to a particular recruit, or given the nature of 18/19 year olds their minds could change at the drop of a hat.

Matt has good sources and some inside knowledge, but Drew probably has more knowledge of the situation because he works on the site day to day. Drew probably reads into and makes a lot of calls because his job is staying up to date and writing good material.

Matt knows the "BIG" stuff that is in the works, but he probably is not involved in day to day info as he used to be 6-7 years ago. Matt has a lot more going on with his political group and TV show to know everything going on with UK sports 24/7.

I have excellent sources to all the recruiting news about UK. They want to remain anonymous therefore I can not reveal them. So if I say Bamba done deal and it happens I'm right and justified if it doesn't then I just say last minute he changed his mind........Question is does that make me an insider or just playing on the 50/50 fence. It's recruiting I think there are some that have a little info but I personally just sit back n wait. 18 y/o change their mind.

Not sure if he has sources or not but being out of state I really enjoy the show. It makes me feel connected to UK basketball.

I don't listen to MJ although I still read KSR on occasion

But I think its foolish to believe that Matt Jones isn't more connected than the average guy on here.

Now maybe collectively this board as a whole is much more connected to Matt, but you also have to filter out 99% of the people who talk out of their butt on here, and with Matt I'd say just by virtue of living and breathing UK most of the time is going to hear things.

I'm not a hater or supporter but I like that Matt has whatever he has that is dedicated to promoting UK. I would say that in turn provides benefits and access to him that we'll never hear or see.
