Follow up of Keldon Johnson visit

Would be a couple of good gets. Need Barrett or Zion to make us contenders IMO. Unfortunately for Cal he needs more than a couple of pieces every year. It is basically wholesale change each season.

UK Will end up with 4-5 of Quickley, Johnson, Grimes, Barrett, Zion, Shittu, and Bol. UK has landed the #1 or #2 class every year since Cal took over. If I were to make a guess based on nothing but my opinion, Quickley, Johnson, Barrett, Zion, and Shittu all committ to take the scholarships vacated by Knox, Diallo, Vanderbilt, and Richards. We currently have 2 vacant rides. There's no reason to expect us ending up with the #1 or #2 class to change in this LOADED class.

In my completely worthless opinion as always.

Richards is probably the least likely to leave, but he comes from a background that could really use the money. Plus the records he set in the World games alone will get him drafted in the first round.

My guess is knox, vando, pj, Richards and 1 or 2 of green, Alexander and Gabriel will go.
So 5 or 6 will go and we will sign 5 or 6.

I am as excited about the trio of vando, pj and Knox as any kids cal has brought in.
By march they will do tough and an absolute match up nightmare on both ends.

Your highly underrating Richards and he's also old for his class. Think you'll be impressed with his development. He's not played basketball that long and has ability to pick up things quickly.

I hope Johnson will wait until Spring to see if someone like SGA goes pro or if someone transfers. I think we get back Quade, SGA, Baker, SKJ, Wynyard and maybe Gabriel.

Knox, Diallo, Vanderbilt, Washington, Richards and maybe Gabriel and SGA leave.

Quickley takes Diallo's spot. Zion takes Washington's. Barrett takes Knox. Leaves room for a big and then one of Johnson/Grimes to fill the Vanderbilt spot.

Was about to say the same thing. I Iike Richards quite a bit. With Coach Payne, he's going to looking really good by SEC play for you all.

I'm torn on who I want more out of Johnson/Grimes. Then again, if we miss on Barrett we can probably afford to go after both. Assuming we get Barrett though, it appears to be a win win.

Richards is so hard to figure. Fans expect very little out of him while people who played against him in practice games are impressed. Pros are the same, some think he will leave early, others don't, it will be interesting.

Richards is a one and done for sure. I always thought richards was better than carter and bamba, he could hold his own against marvin bagley..

Grimes has a alot of potential as a big time player under the right coach, with his size, scoring ability, defense and overall game is one of the best two way players in this class. Johnson would be a good get to though, great situation to be in!!

Whoa.. that's some nice optimism.

Cal's biggest selling point is that they'll sharpen their skills in practice against the top competition. This is a GREAT selling point and why we snagged Knox, IMO.

I highly respect your opinion. My take on Richards is a rim protector and very limited offensive game. He does have a motor for getting up and down the floor. Has a great outlet pass and will thrive in transition basketball. Strong but his hands are a question mark. Entering just his 5th year of basketball. We'll have players leave but until toward the end of the season Richards will be a question mark...............IMHO

Richards doesn't have to score to be a big contributor this year. He just needs to board and protect the rim.
