Flipping Roster with portal

Who truly believe Stoops can flip the roster with the transfer portal and NIL?

I think it would require getting rid of and bringing in 35-40 new players. Maybe more.

Culture, you have to get rid of the bad culture, it's hard to change it out of a player.

He kept the recruiting class pretty intact (4th best recruiting class since he's been here), so maybe the perception of the program that the fans have is different than recruits and potential transfers.

This...to me, Stoops doesn't come across as a quick twitch thinker, dynamic, nor quick on his feet, wit wise, he's like a plow horse and appears to be generations behind in his approach to the game and understanding the current landscape of CFB.

Speaking of culture. I find it very ironic that Stoops needs to rebuild the culture after he trashed Shane Beamer for trying to build culture with gimmicks.

UL signed just 15 again this year. Looks like Brohm plans to max the portal every year.

This. I think we're seeing a complete revamp. This could be a good thing if they play it well. So far the only two i want back are silver and dane.

I have them at 78 scholarships right now. Need more departures if you are wanting portal heavy adds with the SEC confirming 85 max scholarships.

Indiana rebuilt pretty well in the portal as well …got good overnight. Vandy , South Carolina also had some very key portal pieces . Everyone on Ole Miss’ much improved defense , basically . Tons of examples. It doesn’t take 11 on both sides of the ball , but maybe 3-4 on each side if you hit on them . Especially if you can strengthen interior play on both sides , and find one guy like a Ray Davis or Wandale …that can change the whole dynamic

Don’t think there is a scholarship limit anymore, there is a roster size limit of 105 that replaces it. Some teams have upwards of 150 players on roster including Walkons. I could be mistaken, but I think it means you could theoretically have 105 scholarships. Means a lot of MAC level players will be moving up if capable, and a lot of walkon types will be heading to MAC or lower level schools.

I am on the fence as no.
To many same issues with OC.
Never developed one single QB since he has been here.

Don’t think it’s about flipping the roster, just replacing some locker room cancers. Gonna be a lot of that to deal with in the NIL era I imagine.

I am thinking the same as far as the recruiting class goes, I expected worse than we have seen so far. I think it is very likely that there were internal team issues that kept this team from being what it might have been. Think about the wild swings from game to game Ole Miss, UGA, Texas and UT vs South Carolina, Vandy and UF. We rarely looked like the same team 2 weeks in a row

Who will be in the portal and who can we realistically get here. As I see it today we may not be any worse next season but we will struggle to be any better. I expect to lose at least 40% of the players who could return

Stoops could pull a Cal and bolt but I think it is 80/20 against that happening. Not an overly optimistic outlook but that is how I see it
