First time we use him as a receiver

Patrick would be ten times more efficiant if he would just throw it short. Tim couch had a cannon of an arm but threw short to backs all the time.

He can write his own ticket here. This is mindblowing:

UK tight ends previous 27 games: 11 catches, 132 yards, 0 TDs
CJ Conrad last night: 3 catches, 55 yards, TD

The short slants kept the defense honest. Gotta make those steady completions and keep the chains moving. Too many short rushing gains or home run passes put us behind the 8 ball against Florida on 3rd down.

Seriously? Why not "first time the QB threw to the TE".

Who cares how it's termed, the point of the OP was clear.
because he was used as a receiver the first 3 games, Dawson called plays where he was on routes. Just didn't get a look except for the end zone opportunity at USCjr.

I can't tell if you are being serious or sarcastic.

Everyone knew exactly what OP meant.

Actually from some of the exchanges in the past on this forum I find it completely believable someone would start a thread and assert that CJ Conrad did not one time in the first 3 games leave the line of scrimmage and be available to receive a pass

Man people on this board are really nitpicky. Of course he ran routes in the previous game. This was just the first time we actually threw to the middle field routes. It wasn't just Conrad either, we threw to some WRs over the middle, which we weren't doing. I put two and two together in my head after reading the headline and didn't throw a little hissy fit.

We use many receivers. Not all get balls thrown their way and not all make the catch. Conrad missed his first attempt and has run routes before. Seriously. Not the first time we used him as a receiver.

Exactly. Not asking too much to be precise.

That is what Mizzou was giving, according to Dawson's presser.

Dont you think you are being a tad bit nitpicky?

By the way - I'm completely aware that when there are multiple WRs lined up and they all run routes and only 1 gets the ball thrown their way, then 2-3 don't. I played football, and am fully aware of how it works. And agree with you that Conrad "has been used as a WR/TE this year". (He just hasn't had any balls throw his way until last wknd, and that is what OP clearly meant).

Look at you and JHB4UK - the football terminology precision team, correcting folks b/c they didn't use the correct terminology. Lol.

Conrad had a ball thrown his way before this past game. You know what the OP meant. I do not.

Hey but the coaches know best :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:. Should have been throwing to him the whole time IMO. Dude looks looks like the real deal in what little action he's received other than using his massive frame to block ;).
