Fire Scangarello today

I wish I could argue. We run the same play twice in a row for several games now: we don’t play to our strengths or use plays to stop the aggressiveness of the defense. We never spread the field. And we call plays and demand Levis stay in the pocket for 5 secs. Long routes when we can’t depend on OL protection. Some of you others can go on but this guy wears out stupidity.

This all day

If your online gets worse as the year goes on then that is coaching, plain and simple. Yenser has absolutely has to be fired ASAP. Maybe the other underperformed coaches ( all of them) will take the hint, but yeah, I won't cry when Stoops leaves.

This offense is pitiful. Completely unacceptable and just mind boggling how bad we are with the talent we have.
If you think Scang needs to be fired ... who hired him? Do you honestly think that firing Scang will fix all that ails this struggling program? It won't. Speaking of the offense, how about that defense? To be clear .. we played Vanderbilt today ... Vanderbilt. It was against Stoop's UK football team that Vandy ending the longest string of SEC losses by a member school. Many on this board complain that UK gets no respect and are outraged about it. You earn respect.

Its almost like White didnt game plan at all for Wright at QB. That was apparent early

I’m not giving any money to any collective, spending any money on future games, or otherwise doing anything but waste a few hours each weekend watching the games at home until Scangarello is fired. There has to be some accountability for this.

This season has been a total failure on offense. The O-line certainly is our biggest problem, but Is an improved O-line suddenly going to cause our OC to call better plays? He’s need to go. What transfer quarterback is going to believe in him?

What kills me is we get into these 3rd and long's and everyone in the stadium knows the opponent is going to blitz, but we have Levis drop back looking down the field - and predictably he get's sacked or TFL. On those kinds of downs he needs to get rid of the ball quickly - they need to run a quick slant, or speed out, or even a screen which often works great against a heavy pass rush. I mean you don't have to be a former NFL coordinator to know that, any peewee league coach and most fans know that.

It happened against Ole Miss on the last play of the game and we lost, and it happened again today more than once, and on a critical down when we are in the redzone. It happens all season. Run predictable on first and second down and then screw up 3rd down. In order for any offense to run efficiently they have to mix things up. You have to pass on running downs, and run on passing downs occasionally to keep defenses on their heels otherwise even a mediocre defense like Vandy can make your day miserable.

Ironic that 2 weeks ago fans were concerned that Stoops might take the Auburn job if offered, now they're trying to figure out how to get rid of him.

No doubt this teams needs an overhaul of the offense. Defense has held up as much as you could expect, and at least the ST units functioned without incident today.

You have to believe Scang is as good as gone, fans won't show up again next year for another round of anemic offense. Stoops needs to hit a homer this time or at lest a double or a triple.

They won't fire Stoops over two or three bad losses. Anyway the coordinators are always the first to go when things go south, then the head coach a year later if things don't improve or get worse.

What a waste of a season. A competent OC would have realized game one how shite the O line was and called plays to work around that. Maybe Will doesn't get banged up waiting for 4 second routes to open up 20 plays a game. Entire season could have been different with an OC who played to his personnel.
Eddie Gran is laughing his ass off right now. He could absolutely win 9 games with this personnel. Say what you want about the man he always was able to work with what he had.

I said that at halftime. Stoops should have called him down to the sidelines and fired him right there in front of the half full stadium.

Thing is , he wouldn’t have had this personnel . Will Levis and NONE of our receivers would have been here .

Fire the offensive line coach
Fire the offensive coordinator
Fire the RB/special teams coach

Let Marrow recruit the replacements.

Dick Scan's colonoscopy offense...what could go wrong?

He sure as hell wouldn’t have lost tk Scar. We would have pounded CRod or played the Wade kid w a ton of RPO

Every single thing you mentioned is 100% true. However all that's on the QB. He has people wide open every drop back. Every route concept we run has beaters. He just won't doesn't see it or waits for the receiver to be "open" which is too late in high level football.

Define talent and tell us where said talent is on the offense. Hint: it definitely isn't there like some people think.

Levis is a mediocre college qb and worse he's hobbled. Our OL is down, which is the most important unit. We have a great college RB. Two talented but inexperienced wrs. One experienced really solid wr. An emerging the room with the two best performers being freshmen.

We're not just bursting at the seams with offensive talent like some posters seem to think.

I agree with you. We do not have the overall talent people assume we do, based on pre-season hype. It simply isn't there.

Yea but my point is in those situations you call one route with one receiver, you take the snap and throw the ball immediately, there's no more than a 2 step drop and no looking down field no going through progressions, you just take the snap , look and fire. That's what he should be coached to do in those situations, unless he is calling different plays then he's getting from the sideline.

He's coached to do it because 1) you hear coaches talking about it and 2) you see him do it, just not consistently.

It's a rare thing for us to send out only one or two wrs. Last game we did it twice iirc. At least one (very early) was a perfectly timed play call and will delivered a bomb on the money that made the defender yet again tackle brown to avoid a TD.

I know we went deep again shortly after but don't think it was a max protect because I remember seeing someone else wide open when he forced it deep.

Unless it's max protect, he always has levels. Even when we go max protect, he knows to throw it away if it isn't there. Holding the ball too long or failing to climb the pocket is all on him.
