After watching USCjr last night I am not worried about that game in the least. I think we can start off 5-0 and end 3-0 for 8 wins. If we don't run it perfect like that then we still have a chance somewhere in the middle of the schedule to pick up win #8.

We will handle USCjr and Vandy with ease. UF should be a win and Missouri is way down. This is going to be an AMAZING season!!!!

easy there. USCjr looked to be vastly improved on defense, that was a high scoring spread/air raid team they held to 13 points & turned over 3 times. UNC-Chapel Hill's QB came into the season with lots of hype but they handled him.

Lets see what our team looks like before predicting next week & beyond!

Agreed, I think USC and their fans will be gunning for us after last year so I don't see that as an easy game at all.

I agree that USC defense did look better than last year's, but I think saying it is vastly improved may be a stretch...UNC QB had a terrible game; many throws that could have/should have been big gains were overthrown, thrown behind receiver, etc. And the QB had really bad decision making in the red zone, leading to two gift INTs in the endzone. Even the play-by-play guys last night pointed out that the UNC RB had 135+ yds rushing, but had only gotten 12 carries, why did he not get more carries because USC did not have answer for him.

UNC offense left a lot of points on the field last night. They outplayed USC in every way but the scoreboard.

The increased optimism for our chances next weekend stems just as much from USC's woeful passing game, inability to put up big scoring numbers, as it does from a defense that definitely has some issues.

South Carolina looked pretty woeful on offense. If we can slow them down and force the QB into making some mistakes in the air, we've got a great shot of getting out of there with a win. 8-4 is what I've got for this season as well, still will be satisfied with 6 or 7 wins. Another tough year in the SEC.

A lot can change with a college football team week to week, game to game or month to month. Vandy and SCAR weren't particularly exciting in their openers but what they did show was decent D and if you can play D in the SEC you have a real chance to win some games. And D is the area where UK needs significant improvement.

And HBC has a long week to prepare for their home game against us. Let's not pretend that we have this thing locked up.

If I remember correctly, USCe was thumped by A&M in their opener last year. A couple of weeks later they beat UGA. They'll get better.

I think both of those endzone picks were clearly on the NC QB not particularly great defensive play. South Carolina shoiuld have lost that game by at least 10 points IMO.

Quotes like this are amusing. I heard someone the other day say UK beating Florida this year was "a sure thing." Haven't beaten them in forever, but it's a certainty now. heh

You're exactly right....he came in with "hype" and crumbled when the lights came on. We have Patrick Freaking Towles who will carve them up like a Thanksgiving turkey. Just wait on it.....HERE WE GO BABY!!!

Well there is some substance to it. Your basing your assumption that they won't beat Florida (I'll presume), because UK has lost to Florida 28 times in a row.
That person is basing their assumption that UK will win on Florida losing its entire offensive line, a 5 star freshman starter being out with injury, a brand new coach, relatively new QB, new RB, and virtually no production at the WR position outside of Robinson.
Defensively, they only lose the #3 player in the draft. No big deal though, right? They also lost several other players defensively, and they brought in an offensive coach. Losing Muschamp will be apparent on the defensive side of the ball for them.
Plus, we're at home, and it'll be the first SEC game for many of the Florida offensive players' career.

I'm totally unbiased, but I see at least 8-4 with the possibility of picking off Tennessee at home. I'm done thinking Kentucky is going to lose every close game.

Don't take the long time obvious UL Troll's bait. Don't get me wrong, 8-4 is an outside possibility, but the OP constantly posts these outlandish things in hopes of making UK fans look bad. He probably started a thread making fun of this thread under his UL username over on their board.

You are feeling better about an 8-4 record without us even having our first play yet? Interesting. I like optimism but let's wait until we at least win our first game.

Actually I think we can win 8 games. I really think a 5-0 start is very possible. I think a 3-0 finish is very possible. Like I said, if we trip up in one of the games I have as a win its always possible to win one of the games in the middle.

We should win 7 and I think we will win 8. Call me a sunshine pumper all you want but I don't see many losses on our schedule. I see a lot of wins, some 50/50 games and a couple losses.

GO CATS!!!!

I really think we end 7-5 and win our Bowl game. 6-6 is our floor IMO and 9-3 is our ceiling if the bounces go our way.

Tigers,Vols & Bulldogs are our only loses and all 3 will be close.....You Debbie Downers can go back to that Rupp Rafter's hole that you crawled out of. 9-3 Boys " GO CATS "

North Carolina's offense made the USC defense look good.. They were terrible.... Not counting all the TO...

South Carolina and Florida are winnable games. Both will take strong efforts on both sides of the ball. We could also lose both if we don't bring it.

However, we now have depth in all positions despite very talented freshmen starting in some areas. Having that two deep depth on both sides of the ball is the difference between 5-7 and 7-5. Folks, we didn't have this kind of depth in 2007 which was our last truly successful team.

You are taking a lot for granted just based on 1 week. Don't forget that South Carolina won that game. North Carolina looked like a well balanced team. Spurrier managed to beat them, so it isn't as if South Carolina fell apart on Thursday. Spurrier is breaking in a new quarterback, so his team may play better next week. I expect Kentucky to compete hard and play well against South Carolina, but it won't be easy in their own house. We haven't beaten them in Columbia since 1999 for a reason. This should be a better matchup for us, but I expect another tough, physical game.

We haven't beaten Florida since I was 12 years old, so I'm really happy that it's a lock this year.

From the beginning, I have predicted 6-7 regular season wins plus a bowl game for our 2015 football team. I am sticking with that. But let's see this season for exactly what it is. Year #3 in Mark Stoops term as Kentucky's football coach. Stoops' contract was renewed in 2014, so he should be in Lexington for a long time. Stoops is recruiting at a higher level than other Kentucky football coaches recruited before. His 2014 class, considered the best class in modern Kentucky football history, are sophomores and redshirt freshmen. So unless there is a program wide breakdown in player development, our team will improve in 2016-17. While I expect 2015 to be successful from the standpoint of returning to a bowl, the best is yet to come in Stoops' future seasons here. 2015 will be another step in the right direction.

How could a fan of UK ever say they aren't worried about an SEC road game?

Mind-boggling.

Obviously it will be a possibility but pump the brakes kids.

Posts such as dorkmeister's are exactly why opposing SEC fan bases laugh at UK football fans......because many UK fans are delusional and sometimes football ignorant.

No offense to dork, but it's one thing to be optimistic but another to make absolute ridiculous statements.

While it COULD happen, why anyone would feel good about 8-4 before we even play a game is beyond me.

SCAR ran for like 250 yds, that should be a major concern for UK's traditionally poor run D.
If I were a Kentucky fan, also concerning would be the fact that Kentucky has not won a road conference game since 2009, Stoops is in his third year and has no road wins, and Kentucky has not won in Williams Brice this century. Other than that, the SC game is DEFINITELY a lock for Ky.

All the football hating brake pumpers need to go back to the basketball board.
Did you happen to see last nite's game? Having rational opinions about UK football BEFORE they even play a game does not = a "football hating brake pumper" History is on the brake pumpers' side...

Let them prove it first

Until we prove we can beat another SEC team except for Vandy, and after what I saw last night,I think 5-7 and if everything goes right 6-6
