What was yours? Obviously mine was the 2012 title. My favorite play is the Mecha-King Ghidorah block. And my favorite moment was the title celebration.

There have been several,a beating at Freedom Hal many years ago,the 22 second comeback of Anderson and Macy, the more recent beatings(2012 title game and last year) If you think about the 50 point beating we got with Pitino's team there have multiple strange, lopsided and weird things happen in KU-UK games over the years

The year after the 55-point drumming they came to Rupp and we got a measure of revenge. Blew their doors off. I was in Rupp as a student that year and it was one of the louder games I've ever attended. I was also at Freedom Hall on New Years Eve 1984 when we beat them. My man Troy McKinley had a nice game.

Mine was my senior year at UK, Dec. of '78. We were the defending champs of course, ranked #10, and #5 KU came to town. If memory serves correctly if was tied at the end of regulation, and UK was down something like 6 with 30 seconds to go. Remember this was before the 3 pointer or the shot clock. It didn't look good. Some people were leaving. UK came back to win though by 1. The key play was when KU All-American I think, best player and leading scorer for the game, Darnell Valentine called a timeout when KU had none left. That swung the game. I also think it continued something of a win streak we had going over them at the time. That may also have been the last year of the UK/KU home-and-home at the time. Going out there this year would seem at least an opportunity to restart it with them coming to Rupp next year. I'd like to see that series myself for say 4 years. It's about as close to Boulder as UK is ever going to come. Still over 500 miles though.

nothing tops the '12 title. our tourney game in '99 was probably the best game i recall. the best moment probably the sequence where davis blocks the shot for a run out and layup in the first half of the title when we got early separation.

I watched that game. I still have it on VHS. It was Mashburn's coming out party on the national stage, and a very gratifying win after the beatdown we got there the year before. 20 points or close as I recall. You could tell even on TV the crowd was frenzied. We all wanted that game so bad, and big!

1978 UK vs KU at the new Rupp Arena

My friends and I left the arena with 30 seconds to go with Kansas up 6.
Walking back to the dorms, a guy stops his car on the street blaring his horn.
He rolled down his window and shouts to us "Macy just hit a free throw. UK WINS!"

We cursed him and told him to get the hell out of here.
He said I SWEAR TO YOU.

We ran to his car to hear Caywood on the radio going crazy.

Best game I ever missed...

When we almost threw it away and Terrence Jones ran up near the midcourt line to save it. Saved our butts. There were only a couple minutes left and our lead was down to five or so at that point.

As a KU fan, I was really appreciative Cal "took his foot off the gas" so we could climb back in it.
