Diallo goes pro without ever having played for UK. Now, don't get me wrong, I understand the one and dones. I don't begrudge a kid for taking the opportunity to make millions of dollars. But, something doesn't feel quite right about a kid coming here for a semester, taking a scholarship, and never playing a minute at UK before heading to the NBA. I don't know for whatever reason, something there just doesn't seem fair. At least the one and dones have to step on the court against college competition and put themselves out there for the pros to judge. Diallo hasn't had to do that.
And, who knows, but perhaps his being here hurt us in the recruiting of some other kid that may have come.
And, a lot of these fans do put up a lot of their hard earned money to support the athletic program.
Again, I don't begrudge a kid for bettering themselves, but for some reason, this one just doesn't feel right to me.
