how come it takes us until usually late in the game to figure things out... like for instance the last 2 drives against Eastern in the 4th qtr to come back we looked about as good on offense we've looked all year but we can't do that early in first qtr or 2nd.. it's just mind boggling is it the playcalling is it holding things back just curious.

It's not so much the play calling but rather the execution. UK was getting whooped at the line of scrimmage most of the night. Towles made terrible decisions, the backs tried to cut outside, and the line didn't give them any room to run. It was a recipe for disaster which is exactly what it was for 3 1/2 quarters. In short UK was flat, EKU played hard and executed.

When UK woke up, EKU had no answer. If UK played like that from the get go, Barker would've played a ton last night.

Execution and effort was the main problem.

I'm referring to these last few games first 2 games we came out fired up and played hard and still in some of the games or last few we've been in every single game down to the last qtr I'm just about being consistent every game and we haven't done that. It's growing pains and being young as well. We'll get better it's just hard to watch sometimes lol

Hate to be this guy, but this is hard to read.

Why you gotta be so mean?

To answer the OP, it was EKU. Our young team thought we could just show up and win. 3 1/2 quarters later they realized that wasn't the case. They got hyper focused and stepped up. They played better and started playing smarter.
People are making way too big of a deal out of this IMO.
