Exactly! I wish other coaches would just stick to selling the merits of their programs, just like Cal does with UK.
Can't help but wonder if the platooning hurt us or if it's the Cal to the NBA nonsense. Some of these picks are just bizarre. Any chance Cheick confused UK and KU? Obviously, something's going on.
Good grief....now we're being picked on by those mean coaches.
Grow a set ladies. You win some, you lose some. It's not normal to land 5 Burger Boys every year. Cats still have a Top 3 class even if no one else signs. You all must be missing the tubby and Billy days. Future still is bright as can be. Ill take next year's squad right now over any Tubby team(including 04, 98 doesn't count) or Billy team.
AMEN just go back a few years and remember what we did have and be happy we have a great recruiting coach
I posted this a couple weeks ago. I know a guy in the FB dept and he has a lot of info on BB as well. He had heard other coaches pushing the rumor of Cal to the NBA. That is what is going on right now. I was dismissed and people said I had no info but this is what I was told.

Coaches didn't need to do it. Matt Jones for months said over the airwaves he thought Cal was leaving.

And maybe he was gone until he wasn't but the recruiting haul, although good, didn't require more numbers with all the returnees on board.
I think it is pretty obvious that Cal wouldn't be spending so much time on the recruiting trail if he was seriously thinking about leaving and I believe recruits realize that. If anything hurt recruiting, it was the platoon system. Some of you are just way too paranoid.
There may be some truth to this, but they've been doing it for several years now. You have to ask yourself, what make this year different? My guess is the platoons. Who knows what other coaches are saying....
I'd guess something like this...."If you go there, how do you know he won't keep recruiting and load up the roster again? That's exactly what he did this past year and now he's got a solid 8 guys there now and still in talks with you and about 6 others. He's not going to tell you thats whats going to happen but that is whats going to happen, just like last year. Those guys last year would've never agreed to go there if they knew they would been sharing that much time. So he sold them on a "platoon system" and in the end they weren't platooning anyway so you had a bunch of highly ranked guys hardly playing at all when they deserved to be contributing at another school" - Opposing Coach
Well, I guess that means no other team will have so many players (that something platoon-ish would be possible) then. Hopefully, that means the guys we've got will be good enough to make a run in March... if the reports about Skal's abilities, Mulder's 3-pt shooting, Briscoe and Matthews nice Spring exhibitions all hold up... and combine with what we know we have in Ulis and Poy and the rest.
