So Evan will be breaking down how the basketball Gods could potentially kick us in the nards today?
I kid, I kid.
They said he'll be on around 10:45. He might have some... not entirely dejecting news/insight?
He's usually still objective enough when he talks recruiting, though.Daniels is a huge Louisville fan for those who don't know.
Daniels talking fair in our option for Murray.....50/50 with Oregon.....that's insider info right there! A great shot if Murray comes to campus.
On Brown, truth is no one knows......you hear Michigan when the media talks. I don't think the media wants to talk up Kentucky, at any level.
- Said 50/50 we get Brown or Murray
- UK missing on all these guys is the randomness of this class, they are a "different group", doesn't think there is any one reason or a trend leading to Cal missing on all of them
- Daniels has no idea if Skal will be eligible, total unknown at this point
- 2016: thinks Cal will get 2-3 of the top guys. Thinks Kobi Simmons will be the focus of Cal's efforts
- Charles Matthews: Daniels compared him to DeAndre Liggins. Good defender, decent ball handler, not a great offensive player
- Shaun Kirk: visiting UK this weekend, undersized power forward, great athlete, 3 star prospect
Daniels is a huge Louisville fan for those who don't know.
Not trying to be a debbie downer, but I think it's safe to say we could go ahead and cancel the season next year if Skal is unable to play
No one wants Brown at UK other than UK fans/staff. If UK had Brown there wouldn't be any weakness. Two top 5 draft picks and 3 lottery picks. If UK doesn't get Brown I'll never understand why he passed on this situation. Come play for one season on the best team in the biggest spotlight.
Ulis/Briscoe/Hawkins
Briscoe/Mulder
Brown/Matthews/Willis
Poythress/Lee
Skal/Lee
You underestimate the NCAA's desire to undermine all things UK.He's a good student. Plus, the kid is a survivor of the Haitian earthquake. You really think the NCAA wants that bad press?

I'm sure you are saying that in jest....maybe not. However, I've been around for a long, long time and have seen good coaches adapt to their personnel. It made for some exciting basketball other than just pounding it in the middle all the time. The most recent would be in '92 with Farmer, Pelphrey, Woods, Feldhaus, and Mashburn. Wasn't the great talents, but they were very exciting to watch and came within the smallest of margins of going to a final four. Not trying to be a debbie downer, but I think it's safe to say we could go ahead and cancel the season next year if Skal is unable to play
He compared Charles Matthews to DeAndre Liggins which I don't see AT ALL. Liggins was kind of a big point guard out of high school, but Charles is more of a SG/SF type player who can slash to the rim and take people off the dribble and a hell of a lot more athletic than Liggins was. He also basically said that Matthews can't shoot but I guess he hasn't seen him lately because his shot has improved tremendously over the last year in my opinion (especially his perimeter shot).

He's right about 50/50 for both....either they will or they won't.Actually Daniels said that it is 50/50 on Murray reclassifying and be gives us a 50/50 chance with Brown.
Daniels may have scoop on recruits but has zero knowledge on analyzing a kids game. I refuse to listen to anyone that has never played the game on any level try and tell me how good of player someone is.
I don't think the Matthews/Liggins comparison is dead-on either. Matthews moves more like a young Derek Anderson. Not saying he'll be as good as Anderson, obviously.
I'm one that really likes what we have, think most are completely overreacting to the recruiting misses, thinks that next year will be a very mediocre season in college hoops so you don't need an all time great team to very very successful, etc. etc.Not trying to be a debbie downer, but I think it's safe to say we could go ahead and cancel the season next year if Skal is unable to play
I keep hearing conflicting reports on Skal.
On the one hand I hear that the kid has always made good grades at a school with a strong academic reputation and there should be no issues, and then I keep hearing that he may not eligible
I'm not sure why there are two stories floating around.
There is academic eligibility, and amateur eligibility.I keep hearing conflicting reports on Skal.
