Johnson, a 6-foot-7 wing prospect from Moon Township (Pa.), averaged 11.9 points and 4.5 rebounds a game last season, while connecting on 41.5-percent of his 188 three-point attempts.

Johnson has reeled in interest from a host of schools, but the schools involved at this point are Kentucky, Arizona, UCLA, Oregon, Ohio State and TCU. Johnson took his first of four scheduled official visits to Kentucky this past weekend.

Kind of sounds like it will be Zona/Uk and depends on Diallo/Alkins decisions and playing time.

I don't think he comes here if Diallo returns.
I don't know that we need him to come here if Diallo returns. Although if Vanderbilt's injury (to whatever extent he is injured) impacts his ability to play next year then we could still use Johnson.

Well I think he wants a lot of playing time which is understandable and be a starter. If Diallo returns I just don't think he would get that so my guess is he waits until the end and goes elsewhere if he returns.I would rather have Diallo anyway.

Uk is the favorite now because it's his only visit comment doesn't exactly scream UK but whatever.

What the hell do you want him to say when he has other visits coming up?

Cal doesn't push for on-visit commitments.

Some of you don't have the stomach for recruiting. That's fine but keep it to yourself.

Cam Johnson is a 3. He is 6'9" and would struggle guarding a typical 6'4" 2G. He'd spend VERY little, if any, minutes at the 2. Diallo's PT would not affect his.

Of course Diallo is staying. Otherwise, don't you think Calipari would be recruiting other guards than relying on Green and SGA (Baker is not an impact FR) at guard for an entire season?

It is all about getting our recruits the most exposure as possible. That's why suddenly in the last 2 months, Diallo might go pro, Bamba might go to Texas, and Johnson might go elsewhere.

Nothing has changed. Calupari does these types of things every year to put his recruits in the lime light and make them household names.

As always expected, Diallo, Bamba, and Johnson will be Cats next year.

The only real question to ponder at this point is who will get the 13th scholarship, IMO.

All in my completely worthless opinion as always.

This is a message board so everyone has a right to post their opinion. You seem to have a real problem with that.

Yeah and I have a right to tell them that their opinion is garbage.

And you're right- I hate sharing this board with idiots and pessimistic fools. I have a big problem with it.

Come back to the main board chad [smoke]

Maybe it's just me but after reading that I'm just not as confident about our chance.
So what do you want him to say. "I am going to commit to Kentucky but I am going to take these other visits to just take a paid vacation".

I think you are selling Arizona short.Like Cal has a relationship with his dad so does Sean Miller who played with him.I don't know why people act like he is a UK lock.

He isn't going to start at Zona IMO.

Diallo shouldn't impact his decision. He easily start at the 3 if Vanderbilt hasn't recovered or adjusts slowly to the college, as we've seen other highly ranked freshmen do. Johnson isn't a scrub transfer. He's a great college player and proved that in one of the nation's toughest basketball conferences.

If he was coming from a mid major conference I'd get the skepticism, but he's not and I don't.

This is just a gut feeling, so don't listen to me, but...

I think he's coming to UK and I think he's making these extra visits to have some free vacation time. All his visits are out west. I don't think he has any intention of going to any of those schools, but he doesn't mind visiting. That's just my opinion. He's from Moon Township, PA. He's not moving out west. JMO

I think it's been UK for a while. Unless Diallo comes back, and I don't expect him to. We shall see.

Jmeeks54thbest,

I actually think that we see Green, Diallo, Johnson, Vanderbilt, and Bamba starting in game 1. I think that lineup leaves us with no weaknesses and has a good mixture of exp players in Cam & Diallo (Dont underestimate his months of guarding Monk every day in practice!), our best ball distributor in Green, and (IMO) our best 2 FR in Vanderbilt and Bamba, as raw as they will be.

Green is our best passer, Diallo our best scorer, Cam our best shooter, Vanderbilt can do everything on the court, and our best big man beast in Bamba.

Only Calipari knows the plan for sure. No matter who starts or plays when I absolutely cannot wait for next year's team. Unbelievably deep without weakness. Will be such a fun year.

All in my completely worthless opinion as always.

But I didn't think he mentioned Knox?

didn't have to.

Who do you think he's talking about in this quote?:

“For example Alkins could back to school or [Hamidou] Diallo could go back to school, although that wouldn’t really affect things. There are some recruits out there that are still making their minds up. So all of that will factor in. The more things develop or even the less things that develop it will kind of influence things.”

reads like he's more concerned with whatever Knox does and no so much Alkins/Diallo.

Yeah, to me I think his comments seemed to hint that he was primarily waiting to see what Knox and Bowen were going to do.

Oh I don't know how I missed that.Well I'm glad the Knox decision will hopefully come out Saturday when he announces he's a flopper.

Diallo will have zero effect on johnson. That said, he can play the two three or four If he comes here. I like our chances especially with the cal/Pitt connection. Unlike Knox he won't expect to start and will get atleast 15-20 mins a game depending on matchups. If we get him, a returning diallo and somehow bamba we are final four bound

Release that anger and resentment. You might live better. And longer.
