Ethan White Florida OL just entered the portal.

Is Florida imploding a bit more? I know they have a heckuva class coming in…but losing a few good starters that could have come back ….they don’t look like they’ll improve at least next year on the fields
It looks like UF may struggle again next year. Like you said it seems like they're losing a lot of transfers and they brought in Graham Mertz to replace AR15. I hope they stay down so we can keep building.

Of course UF fans are not going to have much good to say about him, but they are claiming he wasn't adapting to the way Napier wants to do things. I didn't realize UF had the OL they had, 1st team AA and 2nd team all SEC.

Maybe someone told Billy they both burn a blunt once in a while? Hope for his sake as a college football coach in this era that's not a non-negotiable point for Napier.

Next year has potential to be a disaster for them, like A&M level disaster. I think Napier was a terrible hire. Hopefully we have a good relationship with a couple of their commitments we recruited because I'm guessing they have a lot in the portal next year.

Seriously though how does a program like UF hire that big of a turd? The leash was too short on Mullen as he at least proved he could sustain in the SEC even at a dump like MSU.

Billy was always different from other kids, very goal oriented and driven. He learned alot from his dad who was forgiving when kids made certain choices. I think for Billy to send someone packing it would take more than that.

I have had questions about Napier since our win in Gainesville.

I realize some modern analytics have indicated that punting should be replaced with going for it on 4th down. But his two 4th quarter gambles seemed silly.

That game was a defensive struggle, throughout. 13 of our points were directly provided by the picks by our Jack LB and our field corner.

Our offense had hardly dominated.

So trailing by a single score, he twice chose a 4th down gambit in his own territory, against a defense that had dominated, rather than punt a modest offense deep into its own territory?

Our long snapping weakness was known to him: we botched two earlier in the game, putting one snap in the end zone in punt formation, and rolling one to the holder on an extra point. Why not punt us deep and (likely) make us punt at least twice to preserve the win?

When they lined up to go for it on successive 4th downs in the 4th Q I was pleased and shocked.

Who would you rather gamble against late in the 4th? Kentucky’s Top 20 defense, or top 115 offense?

Billy chose poorly, twice.

Frankly, I’m glad we aren’t facing that guy, anymore.

I have yet to hear what MSU is going to do, but I hope they are still so pissed at Mullen, that they don’t bring him back.

MSU's already made a hire - they promoted their DC.

I was at the game and sitting in the stands I had the exact same feelings. Gator fans around us also questioned those gambles. I heard more than one WTF. You were right about our offense, it was not going to win the game for us but the defense could and did. Napier's coaching helped.

I think a lot of Florida fans are seriously questioning the hire of Napier and he better fix it soon. If FSU moves ahead of the Gators in this state we may have a civil war break out on the Gainesville campus.

I mean, My God, you have to know your opponent.

If Billy or anyone on staff at UF had bothered to watch many Mark Stoops Coached teams they would have known there was a 90 percent chance (had Billy punted us inside our 20) that we would have run the ball three times, and then punted.

And that’s no condemnation of Coach Stoops: we win a lot of games dicking around for time, and seldom beat ourselves.

But having actually watched us flub two long snaps in the same game, my greatest fear was our being forced, shy of our own 35 yard line, to punt again.

My greatest fear was Billy’s greatest hope.

Instead he had his 50/50 QB challenge our boundary corner twice on 4th downs?!?!?

Uh, Mark Stoops used to be a defensive back, coached DB’s at Miami, and has about 6 or 8 former DB’s in the NFL (and will from now on).

Hell, if Napier was playing real percentages, a wiser choice would have been a quick-kick on both third downs to put us (maybe) inside our ten with no return possible. Three running plays would have eaten either little time against their timeouts, or 3.00 minutes at worst, had they been out of timeouts.

Frankly, the UF coaching the last eight minutes and change in Gainesville rank among the stupidest I have seen in 45 years of following the sport.

Feel better & better at playing them week 5 in '23. Our schedule really sets up good at getting to a hot start while integrating in new QB/OC/RB/LT.
Yes.

The “FB Gods” have been kind to us the last few years.

There are frequent threads by Card fans on their forums that the last Saturday of the season with the SEC/ACC matchups has been of benefit to us.

I tend to agree.

The clearest screwing we have received, lately, was that FU Covid schedule where a road trip to Bama “popped up” on an otherwise challenging schedule.

Otherwise, a lot has kind of gone our way in the last 5-6 years.

Appears Bama may lose OC Bill O'Brian to NFL New England. Wouldn't be surprised to see Saban bring in Mullen as his OC/play caller.

Isn't Mullen more of an RPO guy while Bama has been running pro style since Tua? Not saying he isn't a good coach but more that his offensive scheme, imo, is different from what they've run in the past several years.

That's what I was expecting them to do. Was very happy they didn't
