ESPN POWER RANKINGS KENTUCKY RANKED #30

I respect this poll more than the AP poll because I feel like this poll removes any of the "football tradition" or "last years results" biases.

If we win the next two, and thats a fairly big if, we would be top 20. At that point we would be 4-0, 3-0 in the SEC. EKU is a gimme, so 5-0 with a candy, Vandy, UL, Miss State and Auburn in order of likelihood of wins. Nice to dream about, but its one game at a time.

We need to make a statement next week, a big one.

If we win Saturday against uf we will be somewhere between 25 and 30 in ap poll. Win against uf and um we are definitely in... and would be in for 2 consecutive weeks because we play eastern ky before auburn.

We tied Florida in votes in the coaches poll this week. We received no votes in the AP rankings while Florida received 12. The nation sees us as neck and neck.

Perception vs. reality. Louisville is perceived to be a good team based on last few years, while Kentucky is perceived to be still rebuilding. Reality is Kentucky is rebuilding, but they are over half way there. Louisville is on the other trajectory. Gotta love it.

It may do that, but it also factors recruiting rankings into the rankings, which is pretty foolish, IMO. And the FPI's bowl predictions (who would actually win the bowl games) has been absolutely atrocious the past couple of years.

LilBro's schedule has been difficult. They've lost to the 21st and 28th ranked teams. That's sort of a moral victory.

Sounds a bit high for what we've accomplished, but let's face it....there isn't much difference between the 30th and 60th ranked teams.
