I have tried so hard to support this team even through the so called growing pains, but have been let down time and time again. It's hard to stay positive and get excited about a team that shows promise against a Florida team, and then shows complete laziness against an EKU team. These kids at times in my opinion only played parts of a game. There were very few games if any, where the team came together and played a complete game.
I want so badly for UK to be able to compete with ranked teams again. I remember exactly where I was when we stopped #1 LSU on a 4th and 1 to win the game.
Or when I was at the game when we defeated #9 Louisville on a Stevie Johnson touchdown pass.
Of course there are many more moments I can remember as well, but my point is this. I cannot recall being more excited about the direction this program seemed like it was headed with the hiring of Mark Stoops.
He has a football pedigree, He is defensive minded, and he has recruited better than any coach before him at UK. So why can we not play better than we did with Mumme, and Brooks??
I know this is his first head coaching gig, but he has made some bad game decisions whether it be calling inopportune time outs, or going for it on 4th down when the game did not dictate it.
We seem very predictable with what we are going to do offense and very vulnerable on defense.
My point is.....I want so hard to get behind Stoops and company! I want to get behind this team and support them, but it's becoming very hard to do that anymore. I really hope the staff puts in the extra work at coaching like they do in recruiting this off season and turn this thing around.
For now they have lost a season ticket holder
