Size and position? Oliver was a good player, big guy. TIA.

Highlights look good. Started off as an OL as freshman at 6'2" 210 and switched at some point to be a DT at 6'3" 215 with 4.8 speed as a senior.
Looks like he could keep speed and game some pounds. Looked like he has good instincts.

Yep Big Olly was awesome, hope the kid got a lot of those geans.

Outside linebacker, or defensive end maybe? Take your pick.

I may be remembering facts to match the situation. but didn't Oliver just blow up from non contributor to eventual all sec. he was a bit of a surprise.

Oliver is about my age, and I remember he was a great player at UK, especially his SR year. I believe he played briefly in the NFL IIRC.

Hopefully this young man will work his way into being on scholarship. We need legacy players on our rosters.

Agreed, Big Ollie was one of the best D-lineman we've had in my days of following the team. Not Art Still good, but right up there with any of the others we've had.

Played 1990-95 with 3 NFL teams.

Glad to have him but I wish our legacy players were 4 stars like UT's are. Good grief they've had like 5 in the last two classes.

Not sure about that. Here's is a statement his mother made about him coming to Kentucky. Its funny.

After an All-State career at J'town High, Barnett signed with UK. On the day he left for Lexington, his mother had this plea for him, "Now, Oliver, don't you go up there and hurt any of those boys."
Barnett made All-Southeastern Conference and played six seasons in the NFL. He is still UK's all-time sacks leader with 26,

Believe he was taken in the 3rd round and played 6 years with Atlanta, Buffalo, and SF.

Are we now competing with Union, Lindsey Wilson and KCU late in the game?

You compete with everybody in recruiting.

The kid is the son of a past UK great. I see no reason to not offer him a preferred walk on.

I would say he is a walk on since there hasn't been a shout out from the staff. So who cares who wanted him at this time, maybe he can make himself into the player that his Dad was, that would be really good for us.
